#18 Ministry Services Expand

I am a little late on getting this report out as I have been working on a sermon about Hearing the Voice of God, that I am delivering on the 9th.
About 18 people showed-up at Zion, 3 others joined us at Portage Place, and Don Bouchard from Out of the Darkness Ministries also brought a team of about 6 people to Portage Place.
Three good surprises were introduced at Zion before we left.  Firstly Kevin had been at Harvest helping distribute food during the day, and they gave him a van load of leftover perishables to distribute on the streets.  Secondly, Al Hiller of Love-N-Care Ministries announced that his organization provided several services to street people, such as provide furniture, appliances, help find accommodation, help find a job, and provides a discipleship program for new believers (all services this street ministry needs).  Thirdly, Tom Campbell confirmed that due to the numbers of new people coming out to this ministry, Zion would be starting Saturday evening training sessions, so people could better understand how to be involved in this street ministry.
The evening started out by Al Hiller’s team taking a man, with a large open wound on his arm to the hospital.  I don’t know all the details, but they did pray for him and share the Gospel with him.
Our team engaged an elderly lady with one leg, in a wheelchair, named Mary.  Her daughter Crystal, who had a large bandage on her neck, was pushing the chair.  Mary said that she had a level 10 pain throughout her whole body, even though she was on painkillers.  We prayed for her to be pain-free, three times, and the pain dropped each time – 10, 7, 3, 0.  Her daughter told us that her brother, Mary’s son, had committed suicide last year, and Mary is taking care of his 6 children (her grandchildren).  So we also prayed a blessing of provision for her.  We then prayed for her leg stub to grow into a complete leg – we didn’t see that happen.  We know that is not a problem for Jesus, so maybe our faith needs to grow some more.  We asked Crystal if we could pray for her neck, but she refused, and they went on their way.
The mall wasn’t that busy, and other teams were engaged with the few people that were there.  Our team decided to go onto Portage Avenue, to see who we could encounter.  Diana and Phyllis engaged a young couple in a bus shelter.  They were each eager to receive prayer for emotional pain they were experiencing.  The street was also not busy, so we went back to the mall.  I approached a man with a walker, and his lady friend told me to not bother them.  We then engaged a black man who kind of mocked us by telling us that every breath we breathed was a prayer – so what is prayer anyway.  I saw him as someone who was just wasting our time, and so we moved on.  We then encountered a group of Sudanese men, and their Pastor, Michael of the Sudanese Pentecostal Church.  We offered to pray for the men, but they declined to say their Pastor took care of that.  We then offered to pray for the Pastor and he eagerly accepted.  We prayed an increase in his anointing, a blessing of an increase in his flock, and a blessing of wisdom in his shepherding.  He appreciated the prayer, thanked us for the unity, and commended us for our ministry.
It was almost 9 and we started towards the team members that were gathering in Centre Court.  Suddenly a lady came up behind us and said, “Excuse me, do you remember me?”.  Diana and Phyllis remembered Rose and greeted her warmly.  They had prayed for her a month ago.  Rose told us she knew we would be here on Thursday nights and she had come to find us as she needed prayer again.  She said the government was with-holding her cheque, and she needed prayer for provision.  She had exactly enough to pay her rent for October, but nothing left for food.  (Kevin had already given away his van load.). We each gave her a few dollars and prayed a blessing of provision over her.  She was so grateful.
As I was saying goodnight to everyone Kevin engaged a man that was walking by, and it turned out he had a deaf ear.  By the time I was leaving his hearing had been restored.  Perfect end to a great night of prayer.
