How to Bless the Needy and Produce Kingdom Fruit
Table of Contents
When we step out to bless the needy, we are not trying to earn God’s favor or convince Him to move; we are simply acting as an extension of His unconditional Agape love. This week’s Kingdom H2O outreach demonstrated that when we operate from a place of perfect union with the Father, the fruit comes naturally.
“But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him?” — 1 John 3:17
Team Profile: Partnering to Bless the Needy
GELANE HAILU is a member of the United Oromo Christian Fellowship of Manitoba. She has worked as a Health Care Aide but is transitioning to becoming a Financial Advisor. She has been a vital part of KH2O for two and a half years.
“I first heard about the Kingdom H2O outreach from Mike Zachman when he was preaching at a conference in June 2017. As a result, I visited Zion and was invited to become a Team Member.”
“The main reason I like H2O’s approach is because it’s personal—not just preaching to people. Also, when we approach individuals on the street or in malls, we don’t discriminate; we love on them freely. We establish real relationships. Bill Johnson often says that we owe the world an encounter with God! When we go out with KH2O, we do just that. The people involved are from all different churches, yet we’re all from one Father and one family! I always look forward to going out to see what Jesus will do in people’s lives!”
Weekly Street Ministry Highlights
Twenty-two Weekly Warriors came out to minister this week. Nine men showed up at Zion for prayer before going out, and thirteen joined us at Portage Place (including 10 students from Eston College who were there to experience street ministry). The mall was busy, and all the teams were kept engaged with divine encounters as they set out to bless the needy.

Providing Warmth for the Winter
Kingdom H2O regularly hands out socks, scarves, gloves, mitts, hats, jackets, coats, and other clothing that comes our way. Our team also provides hot chocolate, pizza, protein bars, water (in the summer), and purchases meals for hungry people. With each gift, we add, “We also pray for people, how can we pray for you?” These acts of kindness have met many physical needs and resulted in beautiful prayer encounters.

Pictured above is Doug, one of the ‘regulars’ at Portage Place Food Court. Doug was saying he was ready for winter as he still had the gloves and scarf we gave him last year. However, I noticed he had a very light jacket on, and asked if he had a warmer one. He said he didn’t.
It just so happened my wife had bought a 3X Mackinaw she found on sale and had sent it in with me. It fit him perfectly, and he was thrilled to have a warmer jacket to fight the cold.
Pastor Chris’ Report: Freedom from Guilt
Several of us went to Portage Place to connect and partner with the Eston students. Before meeting up, I met “Bronson,” who had just tested positive for TB. We prayed for him and his friends.
Later, I connected with “Kyle” and his group of friends, particularly a woman named Kaitlyn. It started out rough, as she was accusing us and expressing frustration about how mean people can be. But her friends knew us and shared about the good works we’ve done to bless the needy. She opened up. Just before we prayed, someone tried to get her to leave, but she replied, “Hold on… I think I wanna get saved.”
She was struggling heavily with a guilty conscience and a mindset of separation from God. We shared the good news with her: that God does not condemn her and that the heavy burden of guilt could leave her today. As we teach in our article on The Problem with SIN (noun), true freedom comes when we recognize we are already loved. We prayed, and afterward, she testified to how completely different she felt. “That negative feeling is all gone!”
Jerrold’s Report: Miracles at Siloam
Ed, Olu, and I went to Siloam Mission tonight. We gave out protein bars and hot chocolate (3 jugs from Tim Hortons). I also brought 20 pairs of socks, which I felt the Holy Spirit prompt me to bring. Everything was gone in about 20 minutes before we even went into the building!
We prayed for a person with a walker who had severe back and knee pain. We prayed a few times, and the pain diminished and completely left, much to his surprise! We also prayed a blessing over another individual. It was a fantastic first experience at Siloam for Olu and me. Praise Jesus.

Discipleship Plans Underway (Alpha Course)
One of KH2O’s recognized needs is to provide follow-up for the many people we encounter. Starting in January, KH2O is planning to offer a 10-12 week free ALPHA course near Central Park. We are hoping to deepen faith and help those we meet understand their perfect union with the Holy Spirit. Gaylene is heading this up.
We need help in the following ways:
- Team members to encourage contacts to attend.
- Sponsors to provide snacks or cover costs ($50 – $100).
- Table leaders to guide discussions.
- Set-up and take-down help.
- Prayer partners to ensure the success of this venture.
