Our team then chatted with a lady who was upset with us thinking we could come in and solve people’s hurts and pains. We listened to her and tried to connect, but eventually found we couldn’t.
It was a tougher encounter, and there was some truth of course in her words, and a history of hurt and pain. Praying she saw love anyway through our interaction.
Later on I saw Geraldine wiping tears and asked her why. She said she had just witnessed and been part of a miracle, of a lady being healed from Arthritis.
We wanted to video her, and so I sat down with her and asked her if she would be open to recording her story of the healing. She said no, and that was fine.
I kept sitting there with her and her daughter Karen who was sitting in the no longer needed wheelchair, and noticed the healed lady, Lucy, kept wiping tears. Diana came over and Karen pointed out that Diana was powerful.
Diana said no, it’s Jesus who healed. After a few back and forth comments, the lady who was healed said: no, it was Jesus.”
Karen shared her story with me of a history of pain and abuse, even though she had forgiven her abusers, the thoughts and memories were still there. My heart broke for her and her walking through things she should never have had to, and prayed for her.
Okay, this was a very busy, crazy, God appointed night for our team(s). Lots happened all over the place!
I actually ended up with at least 6 plus people on my team, often split into two or three teams at different times! LOL [Weird things happen sometimes on the streets and so you just have to roll with it!
But so thankful for each person on the teams—they just seem to flow together so well very often and God really brought a strong unity tonight!] Anyway, lots happened tonight and here are some of the highlights.
Went to Siloam Mission first. Very, very cold out. We offered homemade cookies (thanks Erin!!) to those standing in line who were shivering in the cold, waiting for the building to open to get a warm bed for the night.
We spoke to almost everyone there, which was about 20 plus people.
No one would leave the line of course, because that would mean they would possibly have to give up their bed for the night as there are only limited spaces.
One of our team members bought a large jug of Tim Horton’s hot chocolate which they handed out to very willing people along with the cookies.
Some of us prayed for some of the people lined up, and since we know many of them now from seeing them for the past month or more, we engaged in conversations to hang out for a bit.
Prayed for Joe, a gentleman who had a stroke and his left hand was not very useful. We also found out that he had diabetes so we prayed for that to come off of his body.
I shared with a testimony of a woman we saw about two years ago in the park who had a stroke and could not use her right side. God healed her!
Wanted to encourage Joe to believe for more because with God all things are possible.
We prayed and visited with Belinda for a job decision, Al who was still on crutches but was very warmly greeting us this time and seemed glad we were there to speak with him.
Prayed for an aboriginal woman who mocked us, but we just kept lovingly responding to her anyway. A few others received our prayers for them in spite of the cold.
Went to Portage Place for 8 p.m. Prayed for Alma, a believer, who had fallen on hard times and had gum and back problems.
The team never noticed an immediate change, but sometimes this happens and we find out later that God has healed them.
As we walked into the mall we engaged a young woman sitting there who refused our prayer offer, and a team member was sitting at the piano playing Christian worship music right in the mall! Awesome!
We stopped and met with aboriginal people. Two of them refused our prayer and one simply asked for money, while the third woman, Pam, really appreciated our offer of prayer.
She had a rotator cuff/shoulder injury and she was possibly going to need surgery. She was on some medication for the pain, but she still had some pain. We prayed for the injury and the pain.
The pain wasn’t as strong, but we didn’t see clear noticeable healing at that time, although Pam was grateful and we made a new friend. Later, we met up with some others on our team and met Rosa.
Initially when we asked her if we could pray for her, she refused, but then the Lord gave me a word of knowledge about her situation and she began to weep.
And then we asked again and she agreed to prayer as she cried right there in the mall. She had lost many members of her family over a period of time, who had all died premature deaths.
She was grieved and downcast, with no peace about this.
So we prayed for peace to come (which He did!), broke off any curse of death on the family and herself, and then she told us she had a stomach affliction.
So we prayed that off of her too and she seemed quite different afterwards! No more pain, no more discomfort and she was at peace, even happy. The spirit of heaviness left! Yeah Jesus!
Later on, one of the team members told me an amazing story of miraculous healing which I will share here:
They met a woman, Lucy, who had serious pain from arthritis and was in a wheelchair. The team prayed for her and she was totally healed almost instantly!
And she got out of her wheelchair right then and there in the mall!! In fact, when I saw her (as they pointed her out to me), Lucy was actually sitting eating some food in a food court chair!!
And her daughter, Karen was using her wheelchair to sit in instead of her mother! LOL After they prayed for Lucy, the team found out she was a born again believer.
And Lucy suddenly began to prophesy over one of the team members!
This blessed them so much that they began to cry because of the Word that was released (which was bang on by the way), and they were deeply touched by the love of God from this woman they had just prayed healing for!
Wow!! Thank You Jesus, for Your amazing love and goodness!!
