3 Powerful Christmas Outreach Testimonies: Gifts & Healing

3 Powerful Christmas Outreach Testimonies: Gifts & Healing

When we hit the streets for our annual Christmas outreach, we are not just handing out winter gear; we are demonstrating the unconditional Agape love of the Father. This season is a beautiful opportunity to remind people that they are perfectly united with God and never forgotten.

“This is what the Lord Almighty said: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor.” — Zechariah 7:9-10

The Perfect Time for a Christmas Outreach

Thirteen “Deliverers of Peace” came out to minister this week. Teams went to Siloam Mission and Portage Place loaded with hot chocolate, Christmas cards, purses full of toiletries, socks, mitts, coats, and candy canes.

The dining room was full at Siloam, as was the street at the entrance. The hot chocolate, Christmas cards, candy canes, and 40 pairs of socks were gone in about 30 minutes, and several people received prayer.

We saw so many beautiful reactions. Andrew received a brand new winter coat and told us God must have sent us because his old coat wasn’t warm enough. Jason received a brand new red Mackinaw and was so overwhelmed he couldn’t speak.

Rita, who is in a wheelchair, received a gift bag with a scarf, mitts, and a toque, saying it was exactly what she needed. Melissa received a brand new pair of stylized moccasins and couldn’t believe they were just for her!

Iris’ Report: A Deep Encounter Overwhelms

Lani, Gaylene, and I met Linda walking towards the food court at Portage Place. She looked forlorn. Her wallet, passport, cell phone, and credit cards had been stolen a few weeks earlier. She had been preparing for a trip to Italy with her boyfriend for Christmas and was having a hard time with bitterness and disappointment.

We prayed for her, and Lani had a prophetic sense that Linda was feeling violated and vulnerable. When she shared this, Linda wiped away tears and beautifully received the prayer and encouragement.

Melissa’s Story of Awakening

Gaylene then introduced us to Melissa and her son, Noah. Melissa wanted to share her story and have us pray for her. She is a remarkable lady who carries a God-sized vision for a house that helps drug addicts in the North End and for sharing the Gospel in the trenches of strip clubs.

We prophesied over her and confirmed that she carries a gift of discernment. Lani had a word of knowledge about how God was calling her into deeper intimacy. Pastor Lorraine then came over and, without knowing any of the backstory, began prophesying over her.

Lorraine spoke directly to the areas where Melissa felt bound by the illusion of darkness and separation. As we declared her unbroken union with Christ, the heavy mindset completely shattered. Melissa had a deep encounter with the Lord and could hardly speak because she was so overwhelmed by the Agape love God was pouring out. What a special encounter at the pillar in Portage Place!

Jeremiah’s Report: The Holy Spirit High

People love Christmas cards! No joke, we handed out dozens of them to various people at Siloam Mission during this Christmas outreach. It’s an amazing icebreaker; you simply give someone a card, talk with them a little, and then pray for them.

Jerrold and I prayed for a man named Rodney, who was forced to leave the military four years ago due to an accident. He was in constant pain, sitting in a wheelchair, and told us he was never getting out. We prayed and reassured him of the power of God’s love. He didn’t notice any changes in his pain right then and there, but we planted a seed of belief that he could be healed (because, in reality, we know he already is).

Freedom from the Illusion of Fear

I prayed for a couple of other people at Siloam Mission who simply wanted a general prayer for well-being. One man asked for protection from the enemy, believing darkness was very powerful. I shared the good news with him: darkness is merely an illusion, and because he is in perfect union with God, fear has absolutely no power or authority over his life.

When the team moved on to Portage Place, we spoke with Rob, a homeless regular who was getting ready for some job interviews. He asked Al for some pointers and tips, and we prayed that he would get the exact job he wanted.

Nearing the end of the evening, Ken realized he had four Christmas cards left and gave them to me. I went outside to a group of guys having a smoke, handed them each a card, shook their hands, and wished them a Merry Christmas.

One guy looked at me and asked what my “drug of choice” was! What an interesting question. I smiled and told them the Holy Spirit. They were obviously confused, so I explained how people refer to Him as the Most High! It’s a constant, stable joy and peace that never goes away. They didn’t say much after that, but the seed of love was planted.
