Twenty-One Salvation Soldiers came out to minister last night, on Main Street, Flora Place, Health Sciences Center, Central Park, and Portage Place. The Park was quite busy, but Portage Place was very quiet, even most of the regulars weren’t there. That gave me the opportunity to have longer visits with Edna, Debbie, and Bob who each welcomed the opportunity to have a listening ear. Edna told me that it was payday for the regulars (old age pension, disability, and social services) so she said the regulars were out spending their money somewhere else. She also told me that Joseph, one of the regulars, was now homeless after getting kicked-out of his apartment. I noticed there was new security staff, and they were watching me very closely (apparently we are not supposed to pray for people in the mall – so I try to be less conspicuous by praying with eyes open, head-up, and not place my hands on people).
Pastor Thomas’ Report:
This week I went to the Health Sciences Centre with Jenn, her sister Savanah and Cuban Pastor Raudel. We went to the Children’s Hospital to pray for children and when we got there a man from Norway House was sitting down on the bench. We asked him if there was someone needing prayer. He said we could pray for his son Quinn who was 17 years old was having respiratory problems that were in part from a sickness called “cri du chat syndrome” which is French for “cat’s cry”, which causes the child to make breathing sounds like a crying cat. We had to wear protective gloves gown and a mask before going in. We prayed healing over Quinn and prayed for his parents, Fred and Pearl. We sensed strong spiritual warfare and had to pray through the oppression.
We then went to the CK 4 Wing to pray for Lazarus a boy with a collapsing trachea and a heart that is pulling on his arteries. We could see a big change from last week when we prayed for him. Pastor Raudel prayed out in Spanish which I interpreted into English. We also prayed for a new home for this family who have 8 kids and want to move to Winnipeg from Sandy Lake, Ontario. Jenn noticed that the father, Stanley had a skin disease and prayed, breaking the power of it.
From there we went to pray for Ann, a woman from my church with Leukaemia who we had prayed for last week. We were overjoyed to hear that it had gone into remission and that she would be going home in three days. Praise The Lord!!!!
Diana’s Report:
Team Kevin, Les, Morgan, Audrey and I started out on Main street handing out pizza’s and then moved to a housing development on Flora Ave. Many people wanted prayer for family members. One memorable experience was when a lady and her two 7-year-old nephews came for pizza and we asked if we could pray for them. Both boys said yes and then one boy proceeded to give his piece of pizza to a man on the street and hug him. Very moving to see him stirred to model what we were doing. Another highlight was praying with 2 sisters Shawna and Shelly. Shelly wanted prayer for lupus and cancer. She had many questions about Jesus being God. We had the opportunity to explain about the Trinity and invite both sisters to invite Jesus into their lives and situations. There was definitely an openness and hunger for truth. Shelly declared that she prayed and received Jesus love and healing. [Al’s note: I had a verbal report that Kevin coached Morgan (a newbie) in praying for a lady with distorted eye-site. After prayer she began to see colour for the first time, and could read signs in the distance that were only blurs before the prayer.]
Ron & Donna’s Report:
Donna – Upon arrival at Central Park we walked around the park claiming it for God. Aaron fresh from the hospital, came to the ‘Need Prayer’ sign and complained about an upset stomach and also an infection in his right ankle. We prayed for him and after the second prayer, he said he felt tingly all over. He said the stomach upsetness had gone and soon after he went to join his friends. The next fellow to come was also just returning from the hospital because he had broken the index finger on his right hand. We failed to ask him his level of discomfort so after praying he just walked away saying he was late for an appointment. I then went with Gaylene and Andy handing out water and apples. We approached a group of people and while Gaylene and Andy were praying for one of the groups Teresa who had just received ministry began complaining about her leg. I prayed for her two times and after the second prayer she took off her tenser bandage. She indicated that the pain had decreased and then put the bandage on again.
Ron – Once the apples arrived, I met “no-name” and had a long conversation. Linda also joined the conversation at some point. I don’t want to say our time with him was wasted but he certainly can draw out the talk. We did not convince him of anything but I believe he enjoyed the conversation and or the time we spent with him. I admit that during the talk I grew quite frustrated and I had to remind myself to love him. After I excused myself from the conversation I went on my way to hand out water. As we handed out the water we asked if we could pray for their needs and most refused prayer except Mohammed and his friend. Mohammed said he might need prayer but there were so many things he could ask prayer for. So I offered we could pray for him to be assured of Paradise. He admitted that no one, especially a Muslim could truly be assured of Paradise. I believe we planted some gospel seeds this evening. Looking forward to what God has planned for us with Kingdom H2O next week. [Al’s note: ‘No Name’ is an individual who refuses to give us his name. He hangs out in the Portage Place, Central Park area, and likes to engage Team Members in long drawn-out discussions on God who he says he doesn’t believe in. Many different Team Members have tried to evangelize him. Some of us have known him for over 2 years. He is not homeless but often asks for food hand-outs. I am always friendly to him, but I keep my conversations with him short as I feel he wants to keep me from praying for and evangelizing others.]
Pastor Lorraine’s Report:
My team was made up of Jeremiah and Marlene (a newbie). We went down to Main Street to hand out bottled waters and pray/share with people. When we arrived it turned out that another of our teams was there handing out pizza, so we joined them. We prayed for various people and often just joined the other team to help out as there were many people milling around. Met an Aboriginal woman and asked what I could pray for and she told us that she wanted to get rid of fear. So we prayed and broke the power of fear in her. Then, I just looked her in the eyes and told her that she was lovely. At that moment something shifted inside her heart and she hugged me and I kissed her on the face and told her she was deeply loved and beautiful and she kept hugging me. As I hugged her a few of us sensed something spiritual came off of her! She then began to rejoice and joy came out of her mouth as she started to praise Jesus on the sidewalk. Wow! You never know what the power of love can do.
We also prayed for and engaged a few other people there and after almost an hour we decided to head to Central Park. While at the park you could sense the spiritual battle for that ground all around you! [Please pray for Kingdom H2O—sometimes we see overt demonic attacks in a variety of forms and we want this park and Portage Place for the Lord! We know we have our enemy on the run!! LOL]

PROPHECY CORNER
I then heard the Lord say, “It is time to move forward into all I have for you. Arise and take your place. I will meet you as you step out in obedience. It is time to take your territory and step into the promise. I have paid the price for you, now walk in all I have prepared. Arise and walk in all you were called to be.” Katie Barker – The Elijah List
