Some of the people we rescue on the streets may never read and understand the Bible, may never be completely cleaned-up, may never become contributing members of one of our churches, but when the trumpet blows at Christ’s return they will be right beside us as we are gathered at the the Lord’s banquet table, because they (not unlike us) are God’s treasures. The ground is level at the foot of the cross. I have been challenged in my heart to not see people as targets for me to heal and/or save, but to see all people as God’s treasures, who deserve to be loved. Jesus died for the poor, beaten-up street people, the same as He died for me. His love for them is no less than His love for me.
NB – one of the people, from the street that received Jesus last week, attended the recent Zion Church Sunday service.
My own team’s experience this week was not very eventful. We did spend considerable time with a man named Lesley, who approached us and asked for food. He was very drunk/high and hard to understand. At one point he made a big rambling confession. I was praying for him to sober up, and for discernment on what direction the Lord would have us take with him, but I didn’t receive any direction. At the end of the evening he came outside, where we were debriefing, he was noticeably soberer, and when I was leaving I noticed Kevin had engaged him in conversation. Two ladies on my team were fairly new to this ministry, and Lorraine, Peter, and I spent considerable time answering the many questions they had about how to do street ministry – so that was time well spent. Other teams were involved in several healings and salvations. One interesting story is a team approached 5 gang members in Central Park and asked if anyone of them needed prayer for healing. One of them said he needed prayer for his two stab wounds, and he lifted his shirt to show the team his fresh bandages. What is neat is when they led them in prayer all the gang members respectfully took off their hats.
I have a treat for you this week. One of the other team leaders wrote a report of his team’s experiences, that I am going to share with his permission.
Report on Thursday night healing prayer ministry by Trevor Fiery Hodgson
Hey Guys, tonight was an awesome night. I went to Portage Place to heal people with others from all over Manitoba who came to Zion church to join us and we had about 32 people with us tonight.
Firstly, I prayed for a guy named Mike who was in so much pain all over. I shook his hand and I commanded all the pain to leave him and I asked him where the pain was and he said, “It’s gone!” So he gave me a hug about 3 times and kept thanking me but just so Happy that he got healed. He also dedicated his life back to Jesus.
After that I talked to Mary and she was in a wheelchair and she had one leg, So I asked if she had any pain because I’m out to pray for people and so she said, “Sure,” then I prayed for her and commanded anxiety, stress, pain, fear, and sadness to leave her and commanded her other leg to come out In Jesus name and I didn’t see anything there as of yet but it will happen eventually. I told Mary that I saw a brand new leg on her leg stump and I said, “You are going to walk soon and be out of your wheelchair.” Mary was very encouraged to hear that. Mary was really happy to have us pray for her.
After that I had a picture from God that showed me a Park where 2 buildings are beside and it was on Portage Ave & Carlton Ave and I didn’t know why he wanted me to go there, but I went over there and found a women laying down in the garden and it looked like she wasn’t breathing but Samson the guy I was with said that she is breathing. I was gonna call police cause she wasn’t responding, but about 1 minute later I saw her lifting her legs up and trying to get herself up and I asked her if she had any pain in her body but she was really intoxicated. I couldn’t hear every word that she said but I did hear, “Pain in my…” Then she pointed out where there is pain and there was pain in her chest, showing me that she has really bad pain and making her heart beating really fast. So I saw a Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) Car and they stopped and called for more backup to help with the woman, then Downtown Watch came down the sidewalk and they saw us with her as well and they helped. I prayed for her before the WPS Car showed up so that everything is good when she gets to the hospital.
So after that, I went with my two team members (Samson and Michelle) further down the street and saw 3 women there who asked how our night had been. I asked if any of them had pain and 2 of them said: “No, get away from us.” They ended up leaving and I prayed for there friend that was sitting with them and Judith said to me that she had so much pain in her body. Judith had arthritis in her legs, Some sort of disease in her stomach that caused her lots of pain and extreme pain in her back. I said, “Do you want all that pain to leave you and not to be back again” and she said, “Yes, It would be nice but it won’t happen.” I said take my hand and you will see.” Judith then took my hand and I commanded all the pain to leave her in Jesus Name and Immediately she got healed. I then asked, “Where is the pain?” Judith said, “It’s gone!” Judith had a big smile and gave me a hug couple times and said: “Thank You So Much!”
So as we were walking back to Portage Place, a guy said to me “Man, you are very tall.” I said, “Yup.” Then I said, “It’s a Beautiful Night.” He said, “Yes.” I then asked Donald if he has any pain in his body and he started wiggling his foot a bit. I said, “Do you have pain in your foot?” He said, “Yeah, I just got out of the hospital.” So I said, “Do you have torn muscles and tendons in your foot?” Donald said, “Yes.” Then I shook his hand and commanded all the pain to leave him right now. After I commanded healing over Donald, he then looked right at me with shock on his face and said, “No, Beeping (Swearing) way, what the Beep did you do to me, is it magic?” I said, “No, Jesus healed you.” Donald said, “Holy Beeping God, There is no way that Jesus did this.” Donald then told us that he had fallen away from God because he felt Jesus hadn’t answered his prayers. I said, “Jesus knows what your going through and hears what you said to him.” So I asked a serious question and I said, “Jesus, wants you to commit your life back to him and wants a relationship with you so that you can grow stronger in Him.” Then he felt that it is time to get back to know God again in a deeper and stronger way. Donald then asked his girlfriend to also get back into a relationship with Him so that his relationship with his girlfriend would also be stronger in God rather than broken. I then asked both of them to give there lives back to Jesus again and so they did. I led them through the prayer and they are really happy that they met me.
We then went to Portage Place to meet with all the others teams. We talked there sharing our experiences and I prayed over Dylan, a young teen, for More of God’s Love and Fire to come over him and for his relationship to grow stronger and on fire to see people come to Jesus through him. I also saw the number 800 and Dylan said, “There are about 800 people (Youth) in my School.” Dylan is gonna bring Joy, Love & Peace to his school and they will all be contagious from the love that he carries. He was radically touched by Jesus’ love! I saw that in his eyes and I saw fire in his heart that he wants to burn for Jesus every day of his life. It was amazing to see young people in their teens with us out on the streets and to see people touched for God’s kingdom and transformed from the inside out through them. They just keep coming out to see people’s lives changed.
After that, I saw a friend of mine whose wife is mad at him because he loves Jesus and his wife is angry with him because of what he tells her about seeing healing’s and people coming to know God. I’m not gonna say his name but I prayed for him that his wife will have a change of heart and start walking with God and know him so that he and his whole family will run after God’s heart.
So later when the night was up, I was getting into Michelle’ Car and Macey walked in front of the car and looked into the car and I saw Macey and she was intoxicated and I just asked, “What’s going on, do you need anything?” She said, “I want to have prayer, someone is speaking witchcraft against me, cutting my hair, and stole my sweater.” I commanded witchcraft to leave her and she was still kinda mad because someone stole her sweater. So Michelle got out of the car and gave her sweater to Macey and put it on her. Michelle Fiola then gave her a hug and said, “Jesus loves you very much, you are loved and I love you, you are God’s daughter and when you put this sweater on know that God is wrapping his arms around you, Macey.” Macey started crying and she was now speaking clearly, Macey sobered-up right after we prayed for her and she gave her heart to Jesus right there. She then said to me, “When I was crossing the road and walking up to your car, I saw the car covered in HOLINESS, and when I saw you, I thought you were an Angel like an Angel from God sent to save me.” I was kinda shocked by hearing those words. Macey then said, “You saved me because I was gonna go to the bar and get drunk but I’m not going to the bar, I’m heading home to bed.” So she gave me a hug many times and thanked me for what I did for her. When I gave her a hug again she started crying and I said, “You are not an orphan anymore, You are a daughter and you are loved by Daddy God.” She said as she was crying, “I’m not a orphan but am a daughter, thank you!” Macey was just taking those words in her heart and was really touched to hear that.
If I haven’t met Macey then I wonder what would have happened to her cause you never know if she would go to the bar and get really drunk and maybe kill herself or anything could happen. Macey also asked to contact me on Facebook and she was happy that she wants to add me on Facebook. It was amazing and awesome to see her tonight. Part of what made it amazing is before we went out to Portage Place, Pastor Tom Campbell was sharing an experience of what love looks like and that could be just the embrace of hugging someone, and It’s just amazing what that feels like when you just hug someone and that person cries because of the embracing that you are doing to show how much you love them and that God is showing that Love through you in someone’s life when you give a hug.
Have a Great Weekend everyone and may God Bless you. Go and tell someone that they are Loved and maybe, just maybe you will see them spark up with joy and be blessed to hear that! 😀 🙂
