#38 – Wrecked Again by Jesus’ Love

#38 – Wrecked Again by Jesus’ Love

Zion Outreach Ministry – Thursday, March 2nd – by Al Bayne
Witnessing Jesus doing miracles never gets old.  I am again stirred to a deep depth of worship for Jesus – His unconditional love for people keeps amazing me.  About 10 teams of 30 people ministered at Portage Place mall last night.
My team included Mel and Geraldine.  During the evening we got separated at different times, so we weren’t always ministering with all 3 of us.  I was involved in at least 9 different encounters.  Four of those people were homeless and had no place to spend the night in -22 weather – very heartbreaking difficult situations – we prayed a blessing of protection and provision for them, bought them food and gave them money.  At the end of the evening we found out, from a purposefully homeless man, that in the cold weather Salvation Army will take everyone that comes to the door no matter how late it is.
Eyes Healed
After our first encounter Geraldine pointed-out a lady to us whose name was also Geraldine.  Our Geraldine told us that this lady’s legs had been healed a couple of months ago, and she used to have a walker.  We greeted her and asked where her walker was and she confirmed she didn’t have it as she didn’t need it anymore.  We then asked if she needed prayer for anything else.  She said, “Pray for my eyes, everything looks fuzzy to me.”  I was standing about 3 feet from her, and asked if I looked fuzzy, and she answered not at that distance.  I backed away to about 6 feet, and she said I was getting very fuzzy.  I then backed to 10 feet and she said I was totally fuzzy and I now had two noses.  We prayed, commanding healing for her eyes, and at 10 feet she said it had improved.  We prayed again, and at 10 feet she said I no longer had 2 noses and she could see my face clearly.  I backed-up to 15 feet and she said she could see me clearly.  Wow!  We then spent some time talking to her about Jesus.
Highlight of the Night
At 9 PM, after several encounters, Mel and I were ready to go home, as we walked through the mall Gaylene called us to join her and Iris.  They were engaged with a tall homeless man who was wearing khaki coveralls and one glove.  This was a very dynamic encounter which took an hour. Here are some of the highlights from Gaylene, with added notes from me in italics:
I met Jesse from Plumas in court a couple weeks ago. One of my Sudanese kids was on the docket right after him so I happened to hear part of his sentence…which included a requirement to live with his parents in Plumas and abstain from alcohol and drugs. I’m not sure what his charges entailed…but OxyContin was involved. Before his sentencing he had a run in with the sheriff…he’d fallen asleep in the courtroom and he was being a bit erratic. After my kid’s hearing, I noticed him downstairs waiting for his paperwork so I sat down with him and we chatted for a long time.
He told me about his work accident and how his hand was pretty much cut in half. He was never involved in drugs before but he was living with constant pain and he has prescribed OxyContin which he got addicted to. He didn’t tell me a lot about his criminal activity except that he was beaten (he has a prominent scar on his forehead which is why he wears his toque pulled down over his forehead).
I prayed for him and his pain subsided and I witnessed to him but he does know the Lord. I suggested he go to Finding Freedom at Elim Chapel (and he did go).
We talked at length about his identity and how the devil had been trying to kill steal and destroy his life. He just never quite grasped that the reason he was in this vortex towards hell was that he carries something that threatens the enemy, that his life has worth and importance.  He’s a very lovely soul…my heart was mush after meeting with him.
Last night as I was debriefing with Iris I happened to notice him leaving on the other side of the mall so I sprinted over and pulled him back in for prayer. Then I called over Mel and Al and then Lorraine joined us.
Al’s note:  His left hand from the wrist to the fingers was purple in colour, and was cold to the touch.  His index finger was black and blue and was curled back, and was rigid.  His other fingers were also curled back, but not rigid, but he could not move any of his fingers.  When we started to pray he had level 10 pain in his hand, and he was high on OxyContin.  We firstly prayed a blessing of sobriety, and he immediately began to come out of his drug-induced stupor.
And that’s when the fun started…Iris was relentless praying for his hand and things started to happen. And then when everyone else joined in…first the pain dropped to 0 then his hand got colour back and he said he could feel electrical jolts and he could move his fingers for the first time in years. Lorraine also got him to break off agreements with self-hatred and addiction.  Al – We watched his hand turn from purple to a healthy reddish colour, and go from cold to warm, as he began to move his fingers.  His index finger also turned to a healthy colour and became more pliable.  Before we left I gave him my gloves so he could keep his healed hand warm.  We also gave him $20 and directions to get a cab to Salvation Army.
At one point we recognized he was totally out from the influence of the OxyContin as he was able to converse very clearly with us.  About that time he fell under the power of the Holy Spirit, and his legs buckled and he fell sitting-up onto the floor.  A kind Security guy came and asked if he should call an ambulance, but we assured him everything was good.
He was so under the Spirit at one point we had to bring a chair over for him because he was sprawled out on the floor near the front doors of Centre Court.
I think it’s safe to say Jesse’s life was totally changed last night. I know mine was. 😀
A side note from Al: During this time the presence of God was so powerful that it began to attract other people like a magnet. People came and asked for prayer, even though they had no idea what we were doing – they were just drawn-in.  While the others prayed for Jesse , I prayed for several people, with all kinds of requests.  I don’t remember how many or what their requests were – they just seemed to keep coming.  By the end of that encounter, I was emotionally wrecked – ambushed again by Jesus – overwhelmed by Jesus’ love for people – amazed at how His presence drew people in.  I keep getting surprised by how Jesus works. 😂
Lorraine’s description of the encounter:  Mind-blowing miracle in the mall last night just as it closed:  A group of us prayed for a man with a withered, damaged hand.  No nerves, no muscles, no healthy colour, scars, etc.  He could not move it to grasp anything.  He wasn’t able to use it for years due to an accident.  Now he is able to use it–right before our eyes we saw God heal it and all the fingers moved, colour came back into the hand, it had a normal temperature and his mobility came back so he could grasp things!!!  When he left us he was so grateful that he just started to cry and hug us!  Very powerful miracle last night!!  So blessed to see Jesus do that for this man.  Wow!!  Radical God, radical love!  Do it again Lord!
Iris’s description of the encounter: Close to the end of the evening Gaylene and I began to pray for Jesse, whose hand was cold, his fingers stiff and purple. I took his hand in my hands and started praying for his hand. As I was praying nothing much seemed to happen at the start, so I did the countdown, 4,3,2,1 pain go now, and then also took my hand away. What happened next surprised me and pushed me to press in for more healing. Jesse said I could feel it, I could feel something zing me when she said that, and then I also saw his fingers start twitching back to life. After that, I started commanding the nerves to come back to life, the circulation to come back, and then Al, Mel, and Lorraine joined the healing party.
