“God intends for the church to fully operate as the empowered body of Jesus Christ in the earth. In order for this to be accomplished believers must be activated in the gifts and anointing of the Holy Spirit.” Randy Clark
Forty people were involved in the street ministry this week – mostly regulars, but also 4 new people. Ed brought sandwiches, and Jackie brought sandwiches. Les had been at a business seminar during the day, and when it was over they gave him all the left over fancy bunwiches, and a large fruit tray – lots of food this week. Teams took the food to Main Street, and to Central Park. Pastor Tom took the fruit tray into one of the bars – see below. My encounters were very limited. I was at Portage Place with Ryan and Sheila. I bought Lucas the homeless piano playing evangelist a hamburger, and I bought Edna a homeless lady a 7-up. I approached a fellow with a crutch named Gerry. I asked if he had any pain in his leg, and he said a level 6 pain in his heel. I asked if he would like prayer to remove the pain. I’m not sure what he heard me say, but he kept asking me what I was going to give him for his pain. It became apparent that he thought we were drug dealers, and when he found out we weren’t, he lost interest in talking to us. He finally agreed to let us pray, he said Jesus once saved his life (with no further explanation), and then he hobbled away. We have no idea if he was pain free or not. Ryan observed that Gerry was chemically challenged.
Diana’s Report:
My team consisted of Ed, Michelle, and Audrey. We spent most of our time on Main street handing out sandwiches and water with several other groups. We were spread out between a couple of blocks. We had the opportunity to pray with a lady named Bev who wanted prayer for her granddaughter Faith ( 2 years ) who is being sexually abused by her 6 year old brother Honor, who she believes is possessed by a spirit who he talks to and acts out according to what he is told. Very disturbing situation, but we believe that the Lord will protect and set these children free from the spirits that are tormenting them. We invited her to come to a H2O Church service for more support. The night turned out to be one of just hanging out talking to people. Several people on the street mentioned that they just wanted to hang out with us, as there was a change in the atmosphere and they just wanted to be in it. I had a couple of women who just fell into my arms for prayer and encouragement.
Pastor Thomas’s Report:
Tonight I was teamed up with my nephew Jeremiah who is 16 and Tatiana who also came out for the first time. Tatiana came needing prayer for deliverance from a spirit that had bound her for 19 years. I prayed over her and she felt the spirit move to her back. I prayed again and she got free instantly. She was so happy and relieved that she wanted to join us to minister to others. We went to Main St. with a large fruit platter to give to people. We prayed and ministered to a lot of people including a couple of women, Nikita from Grand Rapids and Myra from Little Black River who were struggling with addictions and asked for prayer. I had a picture of Nikita in Sunday School giving her heart to Jesus. She said she used to go to Sunday School and used to follow Jesus but that life was hard now and struggled with her addictions. She was very touched as we prayed.
I went into the Sutherland bar and gave out food to the patrons and prayed for a woman with Scoliosis and she felt heat go into her back. We then ran into a couple who lost the key to their bicycle locks and so asked for a ride to get bolt cutters at their home. From there we went to the home of Walter in Turtle Island, a man who has battled depression and was recently diagnosed as HIV Positive. He invited us into their home and we spent time counseling and ministering deliverance to him as well. It was so much fun seeing new people used powerfully by the Lord to minister to others.
Trevor’s Report:
I was with a group of people that included Antoine and Les, and we went to Main Street area close to Higgins. I was handing out pizza with Les and there was a woman who I told I was a Healer, and she had pain in her knee cap and needed surgery for Knee Cap Replacement and so the pain was really bad about 9/10 and so I commanded all the pain to leave her knee and prayed 2 times and all the pain left her. I asked her where the pain was at and she said it’s gone! It was just an amazing time to go out and pray for people, It’s been about 3 weeks for me but I will be going out again more often and not just on Thursdays but hopefully everyday, will try. Be Blessed Everyone! Praise God!
Andy’s Report:
Prayed for young lady Dania, who had spine surgery and is now pain free. Prayed for 2 Muslims Alien and Muhammad for blessings for school and future. Prayed for Raymond, had a word of wisdom, then healed his back. Prayed for Sahil, a Muslim who heard the Gospel and is waiting for a man in white that he saw in a dream.
