#70 – Heat Manifests as Healing Takes Place

“We aren’t limited to physical healing.  We have the Kingdom so we can set people free from whatever is oppressing them.”  Andy Hayner

Twenty-eight people formed six teams to minister on the streets last night.  Four people from Altona and four people from Steinbach joined us.  Ed and Andy had brought large containers of Tim Horton’s coffee, and some cookies, and other snacks.  We had several cases of water and Brahm brought a large bag of oranges.  Most of us started at Main Street near Jarvis.  There were only a few people at first, but before long we had several people wanting water, coffee, snacks and prayer.  Every team was busy, and some team members were engaged one on one with needy people.
I prayed for several different people on Main Street.  The highlight was praying with Ed and Brahm for a First Nations lady.  One of her concerns was the curvature of her back, and the pain it gave her every morning. As I prayed I could feel the heat in her back.  I asked if she was feeling anything.  She said, “Well, your hand is very hot.”  I assured her my hand wasn’t hot at all, and I removed it, so she could realize the heat was in her back.  Ed confirmed that he too had felt the heat.  We prayed again, and the heat continued.  I informed her that the heat was an indication of Jesus’ healing power on her, and that she would no longer have any pain in the morning.
At 8 we left for Portage Place.  I had brief visits with several regulars, Debbie, Nancy, Ron, David, and Lucas.  I then spent a long time with one of our team members who needed some help with some personal challenges.
Michelle’s Report:
I prayed for Cecile at our usual spot on Main Street.  Cecile gave me permission to pray for arthritic pain in her lower back and hip.  I prayed twice and Jesus healed her.  There were Shania, myself and another lady who prayed for Merv who had gangrene in his right ankle and his foot.  His pain was a 12 out of 10.  We prayed several times but saw no change yet.  I believe Jesus will do something supernatural for him.  I also prayed with Jasmine the cousin of the young man who died when hit by a car driven by a police officer. I was able to introduce her to Tom who also spent time ministering to her.  Glenda who was inebriated warmed up to me once I gave her coffee and a peanut snack Ed and Andy so generously brought to give out.  Glenda had lots of built up anger.  She was abused in the church by a priest.  She is angry with God and didn’t want to invite Jesus in her heart.  She did, however, allow me to pray for her.
Iris’s Report:
Gaylene and I went to Portage Place and met up with Suzanne and Chelsey there. My highlight was connecting with and praying for a Somali Muslim woman, close to the end of the evening. Many of our group was standing close-by talking, and I pointed them out to her and told her that we come on Thursdays to pray for people, if they are in pain, or have hurting hearts, etc. And then I asked her if there is anything she needs prayer for. She immediately said yes, and that she has been unsuccessfully looking for a job. I prayed for a job for her in Jesus name.

This morning I received the following text on my phone:  Hi Iris This is Nimo, the girl you met today at the mall, sorry I am talking you this late but I just wanted to say Thanks for that prayer you did earlier cuz I came home and got a call from this job I applied long time ago. I have a job interview tomorrow and hopefully, it goes well.

Jeremiah’s Report:

Fun packed action last night, Jeremiah (#2), Denzel and I formed a team and we started at Main Street.

Before everyone Broke up into teams at Zion we prayed a blessing for a small bunch of devotionals and we prayed for the snacks we gave out also so that when people either ate the snack or touched the devotionals they would be healed and that the glory of God would come on them.

A couple weeks back, I prayed for someone and I got word that he was healed the next morning. What came to my mind at that time was that lots of our encounters on the street consist of us praying for someone and then leaving without having yet experienced healing. How many people go home, realize that they are healed, and don’t know where to go to get answers? Maybe more than we think. So this week I made sure to give lots of kingdom H20 cards away and I expect lots of phone calls with people telling us they were healed.

Denzel and I met a fellow with a big heart, I prayed a protection over him and his friend Monty, Denzel commanded pain to leave his legs and it was gone immediately.
We approached some guy and his wife (or his girlfriend) and I asked them if either of them had a blind eye a deaf ear pain or diseases, Crystal told us that she had chronic back pain so we prayed and it was better.
Denzel laid hands on her, told the pain to go and she said: “It’s still there –  Oh wait it’s gone.”
I spoke with someone named Audrey who let me pray for her, she was missing a lot of her fingers and she was in a wheelchair. I told her that I don’t know how God will heal her but what I do know is this, God can and will continue to do amazing things, greater than she could ever ask or imagine, I have just barely dipped into this incredible power. I’ve seen the impossible, and I believe it can happen for you also.
Al took Jeremiah (#2), Denzel, and I to Portage Place, where we met someone who’s name was Long, (that was his actual name) we asked if we could pray with him and he said for a relationship. I had a feeling it was his girlfriend and Jeremiah Vega asked him if it was his girlfriend he said yes it is. We prayed for the relationship to be restored.
There were a lot more encounters I just shared the main ones.
If you haven’t been out on the streets in a while I challenge you to come out next week. There’s nothing in my life yet that’s more rewarding than this.  Being on the streets is my highlight every week.

Pastor Thomas’ Report:

For our outreach, I was teamed up with Dale, Lenae, Orlando, and Gord and ended up on Main Street with some of the other team members handing out water, coffee, and snacks.  We spoke to and ministered to a lot of people including a woman named Leanne who was experiencing level 8 pain in her foot. The pain decreased to the point that after the third prayer she was healed. Lenae ministered to a woman named Donna who was waiting for her sister to take her home but when she never came we drove her. We also drove home a young lonely Christian aboriginal man named Andrew who for the past few weeks has enjoyed engaging in conversations with team members about the Bible and prophecy.
We prayed also for Monica, an inebriated aboriginal woman who needed help getting on the bus. She told me I looked like the ex-boyfriend of Madonna which I tried to take as a compliment. We prayed for Donny an angry man who had been kicked out of the house by his mother in law. After prayer, his countenance changed completely and he said: “I feel this joy inside now, what happened?”   I was then able to share Jesus with him. Then Michelle introduced me to Jasmine who was the aunt of Cody, the young man who was recently killed in a hit and run on Main St.  She had just been attending a vigil for him across the street and really opened up for prayer and was powerfully touched by the Lord. She said she wants to reconnect to a church. Praise God!
