#74 – A God Orchestrated Meeting

“The walk of faith is to live according to the revelation we have received, in the midst of mysteries we cannot explain.”  Bill Johnson

Thirty-three folks came out to minister this Thursday – 3 of them first-timers.  It was a very cold night and most of us went to Portage Place, and the mall was a little busier than usual.  Many of the regulars were there, and a couple we hadn’t seen in awhile showed-up.  One man had his coat stolen so Erdman gave him his, and Lorraine bought him some gloves, and I gave him a toque.  I had 8 toques to give away, and each one of them found a head that needed covering.  One man said he came purposefully to the mall to find me and thank me for praying for him 6 weeks ago.  He said the prayer made a big difference to him.
I had 2 other highlights.  Ron, a regular, who is in a wheelchair had an open sore on his thumb and he said it was very painful.  One of my team members was Ethan, a teenager, who comes out often.  I asked him to pray for Ron, so he placed his hand lightly on Ron’s thumb and prayed a simple command prayer.  Ron’s pain lessened, and Ethan prayed again and all the pain left.  Ron wheeled around showing everyone how he could wiggle his thumb pain-free.  He was a ‘happy camper’.
My 2nd highlight has to do with Iris’ story below.  When Iris called me over to join her in praying, I thought she knew the lady she was talking to, because the lady had just walked up to her and they started having a conversation, as though they were old friends.  But, as it turns out, Iris and Bernadine had never met before.  It was a God-orchestrated thing.  They made eye contact and were drawn to one another.  I had a word of knowledge for her, which was that I needed to pray for her broken relationships.  She confirmed she did need prayer for that, and she teared-up as I prayed for her.  I reminded her that she and I had never met and that I would have no way of knowing that information on my own – she agreed.  I then explained to her that God had shown me that, and she could be confident that if God revealed it, He would be helping her in resolving the brokenness.  I then asked her if she knew Jesus, and she said she did.  I further asked her if Jesus was her Lord and Saviour, and she confirmed He was.
Iris’ Report:
My highlight: I was standing in the mall chatting with Al and Mel, and I caught the eye of an aboriginal lady coming towards me. It was as if the Lord drew her over to us, and I asked her if she wanted prayer. She answered yes, and that she needed help spiritually, as her life was unraveling. I waved in Mel and Al, and we ministered to Bernadine.  It turned out that she had lost her job due to an accident with her foot that had left her in a lot of pain. We prayed four times for her foot, and her pain went from a 10 to a 2. When Al was praying a blessing of prosperity over her he had a word of knowledge that she also needed prayer for broken relationships. She seemed overwhelmed as she left as she was not sure how to process this encounter. What a beautiful lady. It was a sweet God appointment.
Pastor Thomas’ Report:

For our outreach night, I was teamed up with Diana, Alex, and Chad from Elm Creek who came out for the first time.  We began on Main St. where there were a few stragglers who we spoke with and prayed for.  After about 15 mins we left to go to Portage Place.  We began by purchasing over a dozen coffees to give out to people in the Mall.  We met and prayed for a young man named Hubert from Bloodvein Reserve who is taking his grade 12 here in Winnipeg.  He received the coffee with joy and opened up to share that he has been struggling a lot with fear, anxiety and depression.  I asked him if he knew Jesus and invited him into a personal relationship with Jesus.  He was so happy to accept Jesus and felt a warmth inside when I prayed for healing from Anxiety.  He so enjoyed talking with us and didn’t want to leave and had a completely different countenance.   We also prayed for a man named Kenny who was originally from Detroit and misses greatly his daughter who lives in Austin, Texas.  He also took a coffee and allowed us to pray a blessing over his life for a better job.

Meanwhile, Diana had been ministering on her own to a group of women, a grandma, Genevieve, her daughter and granddaughter, Giana.  Genevieve had received prayer a couple of weeks ago and was hoping to come across someone from our team.  Diana ministered to them and led the granddaughter Giana to the Lord but Genevieve wasn’t quite ready.  They had come out wanting to find us and they were very touched by God when we prayed for them.  We also ministered to a man named Irvin who was a residential school survivor who opened up to receive prayer for his leg and hip.

Alex and Chad ministered on their own to a couple in the mall who had lost their son and were open to receive prayer.  They were very broken and were very touched by their act of love.

Diana’s Report:
I handed out a few coffees’s to two ladies at Portage Place and began a conversation.  It was a grandma, daughter, and granddaughter.  Grandma, Genevieve was happy to receive prayer for her foot, leg, and back as well as an emotional pressure in her chest.  She felt some heat and the pain lessened and the heaviness that she felt in her chest left her.  She had been prayed for 2 weeks ago and was hoping to see someone again who could pray for her.  In the course of the conversation, she mentioned that she was looking for a good church and I was able to give her a card for Zion.  Her granddaughter, 9 years old, asked me to pray for her father in prison who was being bullied. She then also asked that I would pray for her because she believed in Jesus but sometimes heard in her head that he wasn’t real. After many conversations with the family, I asked if they would like to accept Jesus.  They all had faith but the Grandma wasn’t ready yet to say the words.  The 9-year-old, Gianna however, was keen and prayed a prayer of salvation with me.  What an insightful and very precious girl!  They had some more questions about having their home blessed and I asked pastor Tom to come and join the conversation.  What a wonderful encounter this evening!
