#37 – Two Answered Prayer Reports

This week 44 people came out to minister at Portage Place.  We had  10 new students from Eston College join us.  We divided into about 15 teams, with a maximum of 3 to a team.
When we arrived at the mall 2 security guards were standing where we usually rendezvous.  We had advised team members to not gather as a large group so we wouldn’t be attracting attention to ourselves.  Teams just melded into the crowds as team members arrived.  I noticed security was very busy with incidents in the mall last night.  We could see them running through the food court one way, and then running through the food court the other way 10 minutes later.  I don’t know exactly what was happening, except a maintenance guy told me someone almost fell off the third-floor railing in Center Court.  It was obvious security was too busy to pay any attention to us this day, so we continued to pray for people as we always have.
My team’s first encounter was with Phyllis who walked with a cane.  She said she had been prayed for last year, and it made a big difference, and she would like prayer again.  She told us she had a ceramic (not metal) hip, but that didn’t bother her. She said her knee was often hurting and right now it was a level 5 pain.  We prayed and the pain dropped to 3, and she said she could feel something like energy surging through her leg.  I then prayed, “3, 2, 1, 0, all pain be gone”, and she said with a huge smile she was pain-free.  We then talked to her about Jesus, whom she said she knew.

After this, a lady named Matilda approached us.  She said she was looking for the girl who prayed for her a couple of weeks ago but didn’t know her name.  She wanted to tell the girl that since she prayed for her she no longer needed her cane.  [so team members if you prayed for someone named Matilda, who had a cane, a few weeks ago, be encouraged, her leg is healed – she said it was a medium-sized lady with brown hair.]  She now wanted prayer for her arm and shoulder, which she said wasn’t quite right.  As we prayed she said she could feel a tingling sensation going through her arm, and Alex who was holding her hand said he also experienced the tingling.  She moved her arm all around and thought it was much better.  She told us she had a stroke a while ago, and until she received prayer a couple of weeks ago she couldn’t even lift her arm.  So she had received more than healing to her leg a couple of weeks ago.  Alex stayed and visited with her for a long while.
Answered Prayer Report #2
A short time later Gaylene introduced me to Victor a West African she had prayed for also a couple of weeks ago.  Here is the story in Gaylene’s words: “We met him and asked if he needed prayer and he said he was having some financial struggles and he was working at a boring job (telemarketing I believe). We prayed for breakthrough and I believe I asked for God to blow His mind in the next week. So tonight he stopped me to say God definitely answered his prayer…he got a full scholarship to go to U of M – $32,000!!  He apparently thought he was only eligible for $10,000…but God did blow his mind. So encouraging…God really does hear and move upon our weak little prayers uttered at Portage Place.”
Gaylene also reports:
I was on a team with Victoria and David from Eston and the highlights were praying for a dude named David who had both his wrists broken in an attack near Chinatown. A lovely guy with a soft heart although his belief in God/Jesus is a bit convoluted, so Victoria engaged with him a bit and told Him about Jesus. In the midst of that, a Filipino guy named Marcel walked by who I have a long history with and had recently been praying would come back into my life. Turns out that Valour – who also knows him – had been doing the same and he also walked by when I was chatting with Marcel who’s been using meth and is in a toxic relationship. Valour and he traded numbers…so encouraging.
Then we walked up to the library and came upon busker Alex. Victoria showed him a Housefires song called “Build my Life” on her phone which she taught him and then sang with him. One of my favorite moments of Thursday nights…worshiping in the skyways. And a busker learning a worship song. He said he would definitely sing it again. And btw Victoria has an AMAZING voice.
Andy reports:
We had 17 encounters on Thursday, no healing that was immediately evident, shared the gospel of Jesus Christ with 9 people.  no decisions for Jesus.
Dove reports she had 11 encounters and 6 people received healing.
Pastor Thomas reports:
We found it much freer to minister to people with a team of only 3.  We spent our whole evening with just three groups of people.  We met Doug who wanted healing in his finger and his knee which he received.  Then we talked with a couple from Island Lakes. The woman’s name was Sharon and she had prayed that morning that she would find someone to talk to.  Two months ago her husband and only son died in a house fire and she had been overcome with grief.   We bought them food and ministered to them in different ways for a long time.    Then we met two girls 18 and 19 who we talked to at length about Jesus.  One was a Born Again Christian and the other, Leandra was Catholic.  Leandra received Jesus and both asked for Bibles.   God is good.
Lani reports:
We had 8 people encounters.  We prayed for Cody who was hit in leg/knee with a bat 2 days ago.  We commanded the trauma to go, and prayed about 5x for the pain to go. Pain totally left! Then Cody received Jesus and the Holy Ghost in his heart! Praise Jesus!  We had a young man ask Jesus to forgive him of sins but stopped short of asking Him in his heart..please lets pray he finishes this prayer!
We met Alan who had just served 31 years In Stoney Mountain.  He gave his heart back to Jesus & he asked Holy Ghost to live in his heart too!
Erdman reports:

During the day I prayed that God would send people to me.  As soon as we arrived a lady named Georgina Chief from up north came to us for help – she was diabetic.  We helped her out with some money to get medicine and we prayed for her.

After we met Andy who said he came to Portage Place because he heard there were people who prayed for people to be healed, and he knew a lot of people who needed healing.  We had a good talk about healing and he wants to join our teams next Thursday, and come to a Zion service.
