#49 – Newcomers Experience God’s Awesome Power

Thirty-five people were involved in this Thursday’s street ministry including a group of 5 that came out from Niverville, and 12 students from Eston Bible College.  My own activity was very low key.  I had several brief visits with a few of the regulars, and Mel and I prayed for a man’s hand that had been mangled by a sawmill conveyer belt, but there was no immediate sign of healing.
The next report is from Roger Armbruster from Niverville who is a long time friend of mine.  Roger heads-up Canada Awakening Ministries that ministers to First Nations people’s across Canada’s North.  Roger is no stranger to seeing Jesus do miracles.  Thanks for joining us, Roger.
Roger Armbruster’s Report:
There were five of us from Niverville who joined the street outreach in Winnipeg this past Thursday evening, May 18, and everyone had an awesome time.  A couple of our young men saw God use them in ways that they had never seen before, and everybody came home rejoicing and motivated.
I started out the evening with Tom Campbell, and right as soon as we parked near the Portage Mall, we found a man on the sidewalk right next to where we had stopped.  He had a level 7 pain in his leg.  After we prayed the first time, he said that the pain went down to a 5, but after further prayer, the pain left him completely.  He knew it was the Lord of heaven and earth who had touched him.
After that, we went into the mall and prayed with a number of people.  Except for one person, everyone we approached was open to prayer.  We even found a man from Oxford House who wanted to pray for us, and who asked us to pray for his community, that the light of God’s presence would penetrate the darkness.
Then Tom and I went out on the north end of the mall towards Central Park.  There we met a couple on a bicycle who were already believers, but the guy’s eyesight was very poor.  After prayer, he was reading things on the signs that were nearby that he had been unable to read before, and he knew that God had improved his eyesight.  The couple wants to come to Zion Apostolic Church at some point to take in some of the teachings there.  God was and is at work!
At Central Park, we came across three girls whom some in our group had also met the previous week, so we knew that our steps were being ordered by the Lord and that He had a further work to do in the lives of these girls.  No sooner had we arrived than Kevin Penner also arrived with some of his Bibles in cartoon form along with a Bible study to go along with it.  The girls took both the Bibles and the Bible studies, and the intention is that next week we would meet again at the same place and have a Bible study.  They left agreeable to this.  In addition to praying for people, the intention is to get the word of God into some of these street people so that their minds will become renewed to God’s word, and that they themselves will take authority over the things in their lives that are not of God.
It was getting close to 9:00 p.m. when we had promised to meet with the rest of our group, but just before we went back into the Mall, Kevin Penner came across three ladies, and asked them if they had anything in their lives that they would like to see disappear.  The middle lady said that she was nearly blind in one eye, and had poor eyesight in the other.  Another lady took her cell phone in order to document what would happen, as Kevin had promised her that this blindness would disappear.  When Kevin prayed for her the first time, her vision improved, then Kevin had me lay my hand over both of her eyes, and I commanded the blindness to disappear, and that she would see everything clearly with 20/20 vision.  After I took my hands off of her eyes, she was amazed that she could see clearly, and the printing on signs that she could not even read a minute or two earlier, she could now read clearly and plainly.  She was utterly amazed, as were the two women who were with her, and who documented this all on her cell phone!  In the meantime, Kevin got her cell phone number so that they can stay in touch, and communicate for follow-up purposes.  To God be the glory for the things that He has done!
Now I want to also take this opportunity to invite everyone who reads these words to a New Creation Activation Conference that we are hosting in Niverville during the weekend of May 26 to 28 with Andy Hayner of John G. Lake Ministries and Daniel Fewster.  The Conference starts Friday afternoon of May 26, and goes through to Sunday evening of May 28.  In addition to dynamic teaching on identity and destiny in Christ, there will be an Outreach from the Conference into the streets of Winnipeg on Saturday, May 27 between 12:00 noon and 3:00 p.m.  To learn more, please check out this less than 2-minute YouTube on the Conference.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLwCwXJghik    You can register by going on to the Maranatha Niverville church website at: www.maranathaniverville.church   Registration is free!  Our prayer is that this important weekend will bring what God is doing beyond the walls of our church buildings into the streets of our communities to an even greater and higher level!
Kevin’s Report:
At the end of the evening our group of Tom, Roger, Irene, Michelle and myself were at the back entrance to Portage Place Mall.  There were small groups visiting in that area which is common.  I approached a group of 3 ladies with my disappearing hankie opener and used it to find out which of the ladies had a blind eye.  It turns out one of the ladies who was about 50 said she had poor sight since Grade 3 and she was unable to read or see very well.  She did not have glasses due to her economic situation.
After telling her that when the napkin disappears so will her blindness, I did my little sleight of hand and asked her to check her sight.  She was quite surprised to find that her sight was significantly improved but not 100%.  I told the lady that my friend Roger can lay hands on her eyes and bring them to 100% perfect vision, would that be ok?  She agreed and Roger wasted no time in placing his hands on her eyes.  “Eye’s be healed in Jesus name” Roger declared and took his hands off her face.  To her shock her vision was 100%, every detail of every sign was crisp.  We started to explain the God of love to her and gave her a big hug, followed by texting her phone with contact information so that follow-up was possible.
Pastor Thomas’ report:
Our group went to Portage Place where we split into two teams with Roger and myself going together.  We prayed for about 15 people and saw numerous healings. We prayed at the fountain for a backslidden preacher from Oxford House named Andrew.  He was amazed to see Roger who he had remembered from past revival meetings.  We also prayed for Warren who was a believer who wanted us to pray for his impaired vision.  It was restored by a large amount and he was amazed that the blurriness had lifted and he could read the sign that he previously couldn’t.
I prayed for a woman named Jocelyn who I hadn’t seen for a few months.  She ask for prayer for her court case tomorrow re custody of her kids. Her 14-year-old daughter Ariane and her friend Stefan were also interested as we talked about the love of God. In the end, they both gave their hearts to Jesus.
Lorraine’s Report:
Last night we did not see much action, but Corky, an aboriginal woman that our team had ministered to about 2+ months ago, wanted to meet with me in the Food Court.  I bought her a coffee and Aida and I chatted with her for about an hour and half.  She shared that she and her sister practiced Reiki, a type of spiritual healing using “spiritual energy”.  I was concerned and I felt I had enough of her trust to candidly tell her that it was dangerous to use Reiki as a method of healing because it was demonic and a use of the occult, based upon Eastern mysticism.  She was quite surprised by this and said she would speak with her sister about this.  Hopefully, they will abandon this practice.
Near the end of the evening, when the guards closed down the Food Court, Corky mentioned that she had banged up her left knee.  It was swollen and in some pain.  Aida and I prayed for her, laying hands on her knee and the pain diminished.  We prayed a second time and the pain left her completely for which she was a bit surprised but grateful.

Sanctuary House of Prayer’s outreach during Ramadan 2017
For 11 years, Sanctuary House of Prayer (SHOP) has been interceding for Winnipeg including immigrants, refugees, international students and the inner city. As part of its 10 year anniversary in May 2016, we started ‘SHOP in the City’ in Central Park with a team of intercessors, worship leaders and youngsters who prayed for dozens of people and handed out water. As well, Zion Church’s Thursday night evangelism outreach regularly goes to Central Park in the spring, summer and fall.
This year SHOP will be in Central Park, providing food, and prayers, during the Muslim’s month of Ramadan.  Zion ministry teams are encouraged to partner with SHOP in Central Park during this month.  There is a mosque across the street from the park, and many Muslims frequent the park.
