Pastor Chris’ Report:
- Blind Eye Healed
- Within 30 seconds of introducing Paul to Kevin, 2 young men walked by. Kevin asked if one of them had a blind eye and immediately one man says yes. He describes that he is unable to see anything clearly with one of his eyes. His eye is healed after a short prayer.
- Ramseys
- After doing a few magic tricks I engaged 2 people about their vision problems. A man named Ramseys (wearing glasses) said he couldn’t read without his glasses. I asked if he could read a nearby sign and he could not. I then asked if I could try something that would help. He agreed to have me cover his eyes for a few seconds. After a few attempts there was no change but then he said, “Whoa, it’s getting clearer” and he started to read the sign to me. Then he was shocked he put his glasses back on and shook his head, pretty weirded out. (The other girl I prayed with did not get her sight back) While we did this another girl was suddenly standing beside us asking for prayer. We prayed for her and Kevin and Paul prophesied over her.
- The Power beyond positive thinking
- We met a mom and daughter out to spend a day together. Both were extremely spiritual people and welcomed us to perform some magic tricks for them saying, “We can see your positive vibes” Kevin asked if either of them had any eye issues and the mom said her one eyes did not see very well. We had her test it with a nearby sign she could not read. A short prayer, no change then as she was continuing to look she said, “Its getting clearer” and she read the sign. They said they have brought healing to themselves and others by connecting with positive energy, but had never in all their experience been able to do things like this. They wanted more info and Kevin exchanged contact info.
- The Jungle (Main Street)
- We gave food and ministered health to bodies and souls, with lots of encounters
- 1 Second prayer
- Lady (Sheila) with back pain from an accident was reluctant for prayer. Kevin asked to pray for 1 second and she agreed. She was healed in one second. Then she said her knee also hurt (bandaged with cane). She was healed with a one-second prayer again.
- Countdown prayer
- Met Jordan who had 4/10 back pain. Paul was instructed to place his finger on Jordan’s back then count down from 4 to zero. After this Jordan moved around and had a huge reaction on his face. No pain. He followed us around after that.
- Connections
- Had quite a few connections made with Zion and Kevin.
Lorraine’s Report:
Diana, Ed and I drove to the back of Portage Place mall and while walking towards Central Park, we met a couple of aboriginal people sitting on the park bench at the corner. One of them was a believer (Gilbert) and he played drums in a band called JD and the Sunshine Band. As it turned out the group was scheduled to play in Portage Place at 8:45 p.m. and he invited us! The woman with him was Betty. We asked her if she had any need that we could pray for and then she volunteered to share part of her story with us. She had just left her boyfriend who was addicted to crystal meth. He had beaten her, given her a bloody nose and made her clean up the blood. From the sounds of it Betty was in a very dangerous relationship and he regularly would beat on her. As we listened to her story we offered to pray for her. We asked God to heal her of any damage as a result of the abuse. At one point we asked her if she knew the Lord. She did not. So we invited her to receive Jesus as her Saviour. She did so right there on the bench that night! And then we asked if we could pray for the filling of the Holy Spirit, which she agreed to. Betty was also an alcoholic, but when we asked her if she wanted to be free of her addiction she sadly answered no. So we reassured her of Jesus’ love and acceptance of her. We encouraged her to let us know when she was ready to be set free from her addiction.
We walked to the park. Prayed for Gaylene as she was struggling with her upcoming rent/moving situation. God used us to encourage her. While in the park we handed out free coffee cards to a few people as a way of starting a conversation. It was a joy to engage with people there. We came across an aboriginal woman (Shirley), who had a right shoulder/arm area injury. We offered to pray for her and most of her pain left and she got back most of the mobility in her right arm. As we were on our way back to the mall, we met a beautiful couple who were sitting at a table. It turned out that they were from Myanmar! They had been in Winnipeg for about 2 years and their English was limited, although we could understand that the wife needed some prayer for her abdomen as she was in pain. So we offered to pray for her. Her pain diminished! And then we began to pray for both of them and release some words of knowledge over them. The Lord told us that they were believers (true), and that one of the things that the husband loved about his wife was her good cooking! His face lit up and he nodded. Both were very encouraged by our meeting as we blessed them and their family.
Later, we went into the mall and met a few people to pray for. Then we attended the concert that was in the mall that night…Country Rock and Rock a Billy music. Had a great time! Saw Betty again and handed her a free coffee card. She was very grateful and wants to connect with us again next week.
Brenda 1 was pregnant and asked for prayer for the delivery next month. She was experiencing level six pain and after praying twice it left. She began tearing up and opened up about her anxieties and an abusive relationship. In the end, she received Jesus and asked for a Bible.
We also prayed for healing for a woman named Virginia. She had one blurry eye and she said it was 50% improved. Prayed also for Martin, a believer from Cameroon who was having problems in his family, especially his 22-year-old daughter who just left a very abusive relationship. A beautiful evening to hang out and minister alongside of Sanctuary House of Prayer at Central Park.
