#58 Divine Appointments for Needy Christians

Jackie Pullinger has spent over half a century working with prostitutes, heroin addicts, and gang members. She says, ‘God wants us to have soft hearts and hard feet. The trouble with so many of us is that we have hard hearts and soft feet.’” – Nicky Gumbel
Thirty-four people showed-up to minister this week.  That included 3 leaders and 11 youth from Living Bible Explorers – always so good to have young people join us.  My team included Yolande, Ethan, and Miguel.  We prayed for a couple of people, and provided food for a couple of others.  The man who says he has no name wanted to talk to us, so we spent a big part of the evening, listening to him basically rant against God.  He had given me some videos the week before, by Richard Dawkins, and Bill Maher – all anti God stuf.  This week I gave him some videos by Ravi Zacharias.  We are praying that Jesus would reveal himself to him.  He is a sober, kind of a quiet individual, but his underlying anger is evident, and when he gets on a roll he uses a lot of foul language.  I didn’t feel that he received anything that we had to say to him.  I am now beginning to wonder if his purpose is to waste our time, and keep us from healing and saving others.

Lorraine’s Report:

Our team was made up of some of the LBE kids (4) as well as one of their leaders, Les and myself.

We started out by going to Portage Place.  Ministered to a woman and her young daughter as we came into the Food Court.  The kids gave her daughter a cookie.  We asked if we could pray and she said yes, that she could use some prayer for her and her family.  We prayed.  Prophesied over her and then shared Jesus with her, but she chose not to accept Him at that time.  We then met a few other people and offered to pray for them.  They declined.  We blessed them and gave out some cookies as a treat which they were grateful for.

Met a woman sitting alone at a table named Brandy.  Found out Brandy was in some kind of emotional/family related crisis.  As we asked if we could pray for her needs, she broke down and began to cry.  Many of the children offered to pray for her which she gratefully accepted!  She just kept on crying through most of the prayer time.  At one point I began to prophesy over her and she was greatly encouraged.  We asked her if she knew Jesus to which she replied that she did.  On the table was a leather covered Bible!  Apparently, she was sitting there grieving, trying find some comfort in her Bible.  She was a believer.  After the kids and others prayed for her they went outside with Les.  I spoke briefly with Brandy and felt the Lord asking me to invite her to come out with us on the street and reconnect with us—she needed the fellowship and support of other believers.  She said yes, she’d really like that so I handed her a card for Zion in the hopes that she and her family could connect with us again as she had no home church.  Amazing divine appointment!

Later, we met a few others outside and Les and team prayed for them.  Les was excited to do his card trick and tell his story to people.  In the meantime (while I was on my way outside to meet the rest of the team, I met “No Name”.  He started following me around for a bit and we stopped and chatted.  As we spoke he suddenly became quite angry about God and I could sense that he had much pain in his life and had been hurt by someone.  We chatted for a bit longer and would swear once in awhile, especially when we came to a discussion about God or Jesus…When I pointed out that he was quite angry with God, his answer was something like, “Well, wouldn’t you be?!”  But he would not share with me the reason.  Eventually, I rejoined the team.

We walked towards the park and eventually the evening ended there as the LBE members left.  Later, I met up with Jeremiah and the two of us joined Gaylene, Lani, Mike, and Sarah in the park.  I noted that “No Name” was following me there and sat some distance off at a picnic table watching us as we met another person there with her family and ministered, prophesied over her ( Letisha).  We quickly discovered that this young woman was looking for some other believers to be with and longed to be praying for the sick, etc and sharing Jesus with people around her!  Pretty amazing, God-encounter!  I asked Lani to write a brief report on what happened as she introduced Letisha to the rest of us.  This meeting with her (and eventually the rest of her family), turned into an amazing powerful appointment where many words of prophecy, encouragement, tongues, words of knowledge, etc were released.  Pretty incredible!

Pastor Thomas’ Report:
Tonight I went out with Conrad, Joshua, and Dion, a young person from Living Bible Explorers. We went to Portage Place and began ministering to Ban, a Vietnamese immigrant who spoke “not bad English”.  He allowed us to pray over his life and bless him.
We then met a Muslim couple from Iran who just arrived in Winnipeg. They warmed to us once I started speaking Persian with them and gave them contact info for further follow up. We also witnessed to a Filipino man named Joe who was a part of Church of Christ but had some different views about the deity of Jesus.  He did ask for prayer for his kids.
On our walk over in the direction of Central Park we met Kansas and Alex who were hungry so we bought them some food and started ministering to them.  Alex is a believer who has been struggling with depression. It definitely lifted and he received hope again. Kansas is very close to receiving Christ and opened up about a lot of her personal struggles.  We prayed for her cellulitis and also her ankle which had been damaged by an attack with a hammer.  She felt God’s power touch her body and healing flowed.   It was a great evening to pour out God’s love.
Trevor’s Report:
I was with a big group this time and there were youth and some staff from “Living Bible Explorers”  The youth handed out pizzas and I saw several people healed.
I went up to a lady (forgot to get name) on a walker just sitting down and having a slice of Pizza. I discerned that she had pain in her back and legs and she told me “Yes I have lots of pain in my back and legs.” I prayed for her and she was healed. She seemed puzzled at first but then was very happy.
Mike and I went up to Vincent who had a brace on his hand forearm, and he had swelling and pain and a fractured bone in his thumb. I prayed for his hand 2 times and he was healed.  Vincent’s reaction was funny he was like “No way man, this is crazy!”  He was moving his hand to make a fist and Vincent told me that he hasn’t been able to move his hand.  Jesus healed him and I told him he was healed because Jesus loves him.
I went up to a guy named Ed and asked if he has pain and he said yeah in my lungs.  He had lung cancer.  I then put my hand on his chest and commanded “Death go right now and I speak life, life, life – right now!”  As I was saying this he was feeling heat and tingling in his chest and he was leaning forward and I saw a vision of a red heat wave under my hand and the cancer was leaving and he was just taking in all the words which I was saying over him and receiving them. (Keep Ed in prayer that he will get results back that he is healed, he is going to come find me after on a Thursday night, thanks everyone)
A woman named Jackie, is a prayer Intercessor and she prays night and day everyday for this city, the First Nations, her family, friends and Canada. I can see that on her, she also had hand pain and her muscles in her wrist and forearm weren’t working. I saw that she also had back pain in her spine there was a disc that wasn’t lined up. So I spoke healing over her and her back lined up.  God healed her back and her wrist. (Pictured below she is holding up her wrist brace)
