“As the Church re-awakens to the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling and living within us, I believe we are one step closer to seeing a full gospel demonstrated in the earth” – Randy Clark
Twenty-five people came out to minister this week. About 15 of them started on Main Street where they gave away sandwiches and water, and prayed for people. The rest of us went to Portage Place and Central Park – see picture below.
The highlight for me was discovering fruit from prayers in the past. While I was in Central Park a First Nations lady came up to our table and was looking through the flip-flops we were giving away. I recognized her immediately, “Sandra, is that you?” I asked. She smiled and said, “Oh, you remember me.” “I certainly do, and it is so good to see you”, I responded. I first met Sandra last June, she was very drunk, had fallen on some stairs, and her leg was badly damaged and covered in blood – she was unable to walk. After we prayed she was able to walk and she took-off. Her parting comments were, “There is too much drama on the streets, I just want to go home to Cody, Saskatchewan”. I saw her again a few times after that, and each time I prayed for her, and her bandaged leg. Each time she was drunk. The last time I prayed for her (December 2016) she wanted me to pray a blessing of sobriety over her, but she was unwilling to throw away the bottle of whiskey she had in her bag. I never saw her again until tonight. I had wondered what had happened to her, and I would ask other street people, but no one knew. Now here she was standing in front of me, as sober as could be. She said she has been dry for the past month and a half, and was entering a detox Center the end of August. When I asked about her leg she said that had been healed a long time ago. Thank you Jesus for healing and rescuing Sandra.
The 2nd discovery of fruit happened later on when I was sitting in the food court. A sober First Nations man named Jules walked-up to my table, sat down and started talking to me as though he knew me. I didn’t remember him, but he said I had prayed for him a few months back. Anyway he was now attending church, and the church he was attending wanted him to get a King James Bible, but he couldn’t find any business that sold Bibles – could I help him – he was willing to pay. I don’t have a KJ Bible and I also didn’t know where he could get one. I offered to do some research and we agreed to meet next Thursday. Very encouraging that he is pursuing the things of God.
Here we are in Central Park – John Giesbrecht on the left, Gaylene Dempsey, with her back to us, and myself. My wife, Barb had rounded-up about 15 pair of new and barely worn flflip-flopsthat we gave away. We also had some children’s clothing, a sports jacket, and some bread that was left over from yesterday’s food bank. Business was brisk.
Pastor Thomas’ Report:
I teamed up with Jeremiah, Claire and Cheyenne and began on Main St. with a couple of other groups to hand out water and sandwiches. We ministered to Rick an aboriginal man who was experiencing back pain. He was healed after praying twice for him. We then went over to Turtle Island to visit Geraldine, a single mom with 14 kids and with a son who we ministered to for the last two weeks in their home who was just diagnosed to be HIV positive. We prayed and prophesied over her life and brought much encouragement to her.
From there we went down to Portage Ave where we ministered separately to different individuals. I prayed for Ray who was a cancer survivor with skin graphs to his face. He had blurry vision and after prayer got full restoration of sight to his right eye. Claire and Cheyenne ministered to Alan who was emotionally disturbed but very friendly. They led him to the Lord and after bought him a subway sandwich.

We prayed for a whole host of people. there were 4 people in my team. we handed out sandwiches and water and then prayed for most of the people first was Doreen .. we commanded the arthritis to leave her arms and legs and the pain left, another lady had pain in her feet and it left too !!! A lady who was seriously depressed left happy after we prayed for her. A man who was struggling terribly with addictions left us with new hope and positive for good changes in his life. Another man on a bike had heart pain leave, we prayed for a job for him and he’s putting another application in. that was main street. after we went to Central Park. didn’t quite make it. were stopped by a group of Muslim evangelists and we got to present the gospel of Jesus to them.
