#77 – Gloves Galore and Grace Galore
I was out with Ed, Jeremiah, and Michelle tonight. We spent the first part of our evening at Siloam Mission, first ministering outside the building, and then inside the dining hall area. We met many people and prayed with: Matthew, an intelligent man who knew his Bible well and knew the Lord. We prayed for some aches in his body and encouraged/blessed him; prayed for Gilbert who had marriage troubles and was in some amount of pain; Les; Walter, a gentleman who had no job and was looking for one in carpentry. He had come to the city from Saskatchewan and had nothing initially, but had just moved into a place of his own. He was concerned to get a good job and he asked for two kittens! He told us that he wanted to be able to come home to someone/something and felt like the two kittens would be a good thing for him. Just stirred up such compassion in us. We prayed for an elderly homeless couple. The woman (Sharon) had back pain. Michelle prayed and her pain left completely! Yeah Jesus! Then she told us she had almost died because of bleeding ulcers so we prayed for those to be healed and gone. We also prayed for a young girl with a plastic boot in a wheelchair, but not sure what happened as she had to leave. At one point we met a man named Daniel outside who happened to be a Christian (he was a volunteer at the shelter). We began to prophesy over him and as it turns out the prophecy was almost exactly what he had received sometime before that from another person when he was at a conference. Totally cool how God arranges things to bless others. Daniel was just out of school and had a family. We encouraged him to come and visit us at Zion some time if he was in the area. He was totally overwhelmed and blown away by God’s goodness and the divine appointment! We also met R. inside the dining area and God miraculously blessed him and Michelle as he apologized to Michelle for his rude behavior towards her sometime before when we were out on the street! Wow! That was the Holy Spirit who did that. His heart was genuinely soft and kind, something we had not seen before.
Next, we went to Portage Place where we met various people to pray for. One couple that stands out was Bruce and Katherine from Berens River. As we prayed with other team members we discerned a spirit of death on her and she confirmed this. All of the team members sensed the same thing! So we prayed and broke off that assignment against her and blessed her. She and Bruce, her husband, were believers in Jesus and there was a call on their lives to pastor others! As it turned out she said that her family line had many pastors in it! And my sense was that the enemy was trying to take people out in her family to stop them. That explained the unclean spirit trying to take her life (she confirmed this as we talked further, and this made sense to her). Katherine and Bruce shared with us that they have a 16 yr old mute daughter that they were concerned about. So I suggested that next Thursday they bring her along so we could pray for her too. They were very open to that. We also met a man named Travis who had stomach cancer and prayed for this, commanding it to go in the name of Jesus.
Incredibly busy and exciting evening. We were all very encouraged by God’s amazing love! Hard to put into words how He loves people and the privilege we have to partner with the Holy Spirit in this way. So grateful for what Jesus has done for us!
Pastor Thomas’ Report:
Tonight I went out with Denzel as well as Diana and Kenisha who both came for the first time. We were joined by Dale, Davey and Annee. We went to Main St. where we spent an hour praying and ministering to people. We met a woman named Victoria who had level 10 pain in her knee after being beaten by her boyfriend. Diana touched her knee and commanded the pain to leave and she was shocked at the pain leaving completely. She was overjoyed and shared her testimony on video. Another woman had pain in her fingers as a result of having them broken while in a residential school. The pain left immediately. Praise God. We then went to Portage Place where we prayed for a couple from Thompson who was visiting Winnipeg for a few days. The wife was a believer but not the husband. He privately opened up to me and asked for prayer. He then opened up his heart to receive Jesus with tears flowing down his face. He showed us pictures of his two and one-year-old girls. Ryan called us over to help pray for a woman named Roxane from Garden Hill who was crying in torment as she hadn’t heard from her son in over 4 days and is considering reporting him as a missing person. She felt much better and wanted us to stay with her. Overall it was a busy night.
