#79 – Partial Healing of Deaf Man Draws Crowd

“No one puts new wine into old wineskins lest the new wine will burst the skins and be spilled out, and the skins will be ruined. But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins. (Luke 5:37–38)
Almost every time Jesus engaged with the priests in the temple, there was conflict and aggravation. The new wine wouldn’t go into the old bottle. The new wine needed a new bottle, a new temple of the Holy Spirit.” – Paul Ellis

NB – The miracles, healing, and evangelism we are experiencing are not unique to Winnipeg.  The same phenomenon is happening by various groups all over Canada and the world.  One of the groups is called The Last Reformation.  They train Christians through ‘Kick Starts’ in cities all over the world to do street/mall ministry (see info on our Street Ministry Boot Camp below).  There approach, style and results are not unlike ours.  Thousands of people are being healed and saved.  God is on the move.  There is a great awakening taking place, and a huge revival has begun.  Check the map of their activity on their website: https://thelastreformation.com/  Don’t miss out on being part of this exciting and amazing move of God.  Every Christian qualifies.

Twenty-six Kingdom soldiers came out this Thursday.  We were armed with winter clothing, hot chocolate, toys, candies, cash, and the fullness of the Holy Spirit.  Team members experienced several salvations and witnessed many people being healed.  At one point while Kevin was praying for a deaf man, a large crowd gathered to watch.  The man received partial hearing back, and we are believing for a full return.  Some people in the crowd approached other team members for prayer.  Security was curious, but acting nervous because of the large number of people that had gathered, but they didn’t interfere, only watched very closely.

Trenton came out for the first time, and we realized that he and I had taken Street Ministry training together 2 years ago in Grunthal, through ‘I Am Second’, and we were partners in going door to door praying and evangelizing people.  He brought out a Pastor who was originally from Egypt, and who spoke Arabic.  The two of them approached and talked to other Arabic speaking people in the mall.  I hope they both come back.

While strolling the mall two men approached me and asked me if I had any pain they could pray for.  They were not part of our team so I was caught by surprise, as that is a typical opener that we often use.  It turns out this was there first time out, and they were led by the Holy Spirit to come to Portage Place.  I invited them to join us next Thursday.  Reminds me again that God is activating many people.  There is a huge harvest coming.  See reports below, and remember this is only 2 hours of Ministry on one night.

My son bought a new winter jacket and gave me his former one to give away.  It was clean and in excellent condition but he had it dry-cleaned and it was like new.  I asked the Lord to send me the person whom He wanted to have it.  As soon as I stepped inside Portage Place Mall I was greeted by Kansas and Simon.  Kansas is homeless, and she was complaining about being cold and the inadequacy of her jacket to keep her warm.  So she tried on the jacket and it fit – she was very pleased – see picture below.

Jeremiah Stewart’s Report:
So much fun last night!! Jeremiah Vega, Sid, Denzel and I went to Portage place
to evangelize, when we got there we decided to break up into two teams of two. So Sid and Jeremiah Vega started making their way towards city place and Denzel and I went to the food court where Joseph approached us and I asked him if I could help him in any way. He told us that he would like some bus fares so we went to shoppers to get some. Together with Joseph’s pocket change and Al’s and my pocket change we bought him five bus fares. Joseph mentioned having pain in his right leg, so Denzel and I prayed and all the pain was gone! we then prayed for his kidneys.
We made our way back to the food court and met someone who had pain in his knee. I told him that if he would let me pray for him that God would heal him. So we prayed and he tested it, he told me “I’ll be ok ” (to us that means we pray again) and we did pray again. He tested it and laughed out loud. His smile was huge, he was healed.
Denzel and I spoke to one of the staff (forgot his name) and we prayed for his foot.
And we spoke with Doug whom other teams had also talked to. We prayed for his knees and his dizziness.
When we left Doug, we saw someone named Sharon who was in a wheelchair. Something (I’m not quite sure what) was wrong with her cartilage and when Denzel and I prayed she felt power moving through her knee. So cool!!
And that was just Denzel and I.  Up in city place Sid and Jeremiah Vega prayed for a job for Malcolm and prayed for someone else’s mom who injured her hip and a man with a guitar named Alex received a prophecy.  Jeremiah Vega also had prophetic words for Sid which were bang on.
All in all an awesome night packed with miracles.
One last thing I would like to say is that if you can’t make it out Thursday evenings, you can still greatly impact what happens on the streets by praying from the comfort of your home.
Never underestimate the power your prayers.
Al’s note:  So inspiring to be out with these 4 teenage boys.  They raise the bar for us adults.
Kenisha’s Report:
My team consisted of Margit and Gelanie.  We prayed with and provided food and winter apparel to several people at Portage Place Mall, praise God! The Lord highlighted a young man named Chris to us, as an older couple followed him asking him if he was selling drugs.  We were unable to talk to Chris because the couple (the couple refused prayer but we were able to bless the female with a scarf- we still prayed for the couple together) were following him in pursuit of drugs.  We immediately felt urged by the Holy Spirit to pray for Chris, so we did (for protection, safety, wisdom, that Holy Spirit would put Godly people in his life to help and mentor him, etc.).  Approximately, 5-10 minutes later, we saw Chris again and we are able to bless him with two pairs of gloves and some of the treats Margit had brought.  Gelanie and I asked Chris if he had any prayer requests and he said he didn’t know.  I got a word of knowledge that he had addictions, Chris confirmed he was addicted to alcohol and was only 17 years old and was an orphan.  Gelanie and I then shared with Chris that God highlighted him to us and that we and Margit had just finished praying for him and affirmed God’s love for him, so strong that God would stop us in our tracks and lead us to pray for him.  We then prayed for Chris as directed by the Holy Spirit and told him that He was not an orphan and that God had adopted him through Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:5); I also felt lead to assure him that he was now my little brother in Christ and he could feel free to say hi when he sees me. Gelanie perceived a spirit of restlessness on him.
At the end of the night,  the Lord highlighted a young woman named Alex to me.  Alex appeared distressed, restless, and anxious.  Alex shared that she had been on the News and she recently was severely beaten by a group of men when she tried to help a 10-year-old boy.  Alex also shared that she had sore ribs and was homeless.  Alex was very open to prayer and I prayed that God would heal her ribs and other topics as directed by the Holy Spirit.  Alex shared that she was hungry, yet, I only had enough money to purchase her a drink so I  blessed her with a drink of her choice.  I was lead by the Holy Spirit to connect Alex with Pastor Tom, and he was able to minister and love on her some more.  Alex then shared  with us, that she was going through a very difficult time, felt unsafe, alone (just came to Winnipeg from Thunderbay), both her parents had died in the last month (her mother was her best friend but she and her father were not close),  and that she was upset with God (she also shared that she was from a religious background and believed in God).  Alex shared that God was not good to her and Pastor Tom was able to speak against that lie of the enemy that God was not good and spoke the truth over her that God was always good, and soon afterward Margit came to Alex and blessed her with a bag of hot food.  Moreover, Alex and I chatted for a bit and I told her that God was with her and had a plan for her life, so much so that He allowed her to survive to tell how she survived a terrible beaten, and she agreed and said that she even was saved from death and God must have some reason why he was keeping her around.
Pastor Thomas’ Report:
Tonight for our outreach I was teamed up with Claire, Ryan, and Paul. We went to Main Street near the Pizzarama where we encountered a steady flow of people that we were able to minister to. Among them was Aleya who was with her daughters and a friend.  Paul shared his testimony with the teenagers which got their attention as Shania, only 14 had almost overdosed the day before.  Claire then prayed with the girls who were open to receiving Jesus and encountering His love. I got a box of pizza and asked the owner Majid who is from Pakistan if he had pain in his body. He said he had level 8 pain in his right arm which he attributed to arthritis. After a quick prayer, he was shocked that it disappeared and thought it was magic. He seemed open to Jesus.
We also prayed for Jonathan and Douglas who had been kicked out of Pizzarama. Jonathan shared how he had been in prison for much of his life, but confessed he had never personally invited Jesus into his life so Ryan prayed him to surrender to Jesus and that Jesus would heal the brokenness of his heart, which he did. Claire met a woman named Doreen who had kidney pain and was heading to the hospital for dialysis. When she let Claire pray, the pain left and she got more mobility in her back. We also talked with Travis who was open to talking as well as a man named Darryl.  After an hour and a half we ended up at Portage Place and prayed for some more people.  It was a very fruitful evening.

Lorraine’s Report:

There was Ed, Michelle, Andy, Dale, Lanae, and myself on our team. We went to Siloam Mission again and met many people to speak with and minister Jesus’ love too.  Some received our offer of prayers and some did not.  Michelle handed out Christmas cards to the people in the line and many were delighted to receive one!  [gang, we ought to make up some more Christmas cards for people!  It’s a great idea!!]  Ed also brought along a large container of Tim Horton’s hot chocolate along with some cups and lids for about 12 people.  [That was so generous of him!]  Since it was a very cold night, many welcomed the offer of the hot chocolate as they stood in line waiting for a bed outside the mission dorms.  [That’s another great idea for those who are very cold and standing outside! We ought to buy some hot chocolate and do that again!  $21.00 for a 12 cup container including the cups and the lids—and it’s great hot chocolate!]

We prayed for a lady name Belinda who was a strong Christian woman and gave her some hot chocolate along with a jar of candies for her grandchild which she gratefully accepted.  Belinda needed a place of her own and financial stability to help herself.  After we prayed I gave her a business card for H2O and encouraged her to contact me so that we might go for coffee sometime just to chat.  She was very grateful and said she would probably call after Christmas.  Belinda had a job, but she basically had nothing else and stayed in the mission, lining up every night for her bed.  The way it works is this:  If you don’t line up and wait, then you don’t get a bed, even if you had one the night before.  Every night she had to line up before 8 p.m. to get in.  Those, who had beds previously could have a bed again, and any that were left over after they were admitted, were given to the others who had lined up until there were no more beds left.  Belinda said that she had to shower in the evenings for her job (not sure what she did), because she was not allowed to shower until 6:30 a.m. each morning, and she had to leave by 7 a.m. each day to work.  Hopefully, we’ll be able to connect again.

We met a man named Al who asked us to pray for a place to stay and some work so he could have some money to live.  The team prayed for another man named William. He had sore legs and knees and found it difficult to walk.  After we prayed, William was healed!  We also gave him a booklet to encourage him.  Later, we met a man named Matthew whom we have seen and spoken with before.  We refer to him as our Evangelist as he is a believer in Jesus and loves to share the Gospel with others in the shelter and at the mission.  Later, we spoke with Janna, a lady we had prayed for the week before who was in a wheelchair with a broken ankle.  She said her ankle was slowly improving, but it was quite black & blue.  She asked us for a scarf to wrap around it to keep her foot warm in the cold.  We also went into the Dining Room building at Siloam and met with/prayed for some people inside.  Again, we met Rob as he was waiting to get some dinner.  He gave us big hugs and was very glad to see us.  I could see the Holy Spirit working in his heart as he was soft and very warm towards us; loved to engage with us (and of course, give us a SUN Newspaper! LOL)

Later, we moved to Portage Place where the team broke up a bit and went in a variety of directions to pray with people.  Not sure what happened in other people’s encounters.  I stopped to speak with a woman I have met before.  Her name was Linda and she was a believer in Jesus.  She told me that she had accepted the Lord at 33 years of age.  Linda needed some prayer for safety in her apartment building as there were some men harassing her at times and she did not feel safe there.  She was looking for a new place to live.  She also asked for prayer for her brother who was a believer, but struggling and needed healing in his life. Overall, it was a good evening as the Lord used each of us to love on others around us, pray for many, and meet some practical needs by giving away some gloves, toques, scarves and gifts that had been donated to H2O.  [Big thank you to all those who have given to the work of H2O in this tangible, amazing way.  Those we give these items to are very glad to receive them!!  This time we had given away Christmas cards, children’s toys, little children’s scarves, mitts and hats, and candy.  Thank you!!  So awesome!]

Simon, Myself, and Kansas wearing the winter jacket she just received.  She is homeless, and Simon is her constant companion.  I am holding her former jacket which she gave to Simon.
