NB – The miracles, healing, and evangelism we are experiencing are not unique to Winnipeg. The same phenomenon is happening by various groups all over Canada and the world. One of the groups is called The Last Reformation. They train Christians through ‘Kick Starts’ in cities all over the world to do street/mall ministry (see info on our Street Ministry Boot Camp below). There approach, style and results are not unlike ours. Thousands of people are being healed and saved. God is on the move. There is a great awakening taking place, and a huge revival has begun. Check the map of their activity on their website: https://thelastreformation.com/ Don’t miss out on being part of this exciting and amazing move of God. Every Christian qualifies.
Twenty-six Kingdom soldiers came out this Thursday. We were armed with winter clothing, hot chocolate, toys, candies, cash, and the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Team members experienced several salvations and witnessed many people being healed. At one point while Kevin was praying for a deaf man, a large crowd gathered to watch. The man received partial hearing back, and we are believing for a full return. Some people in the crowd approached other team members for prayer. Security was curious, but acting nervous because of the large number of people that had gathered, but they didn’t interfere, only watched very closely.
Trenton came out for the first time, and we realized that he and I had taken Street Ministry training together 2 years ago in Grunthal, through ‘I Am Second’, and we were partners in going door to door praying and evangelizing people. He brought out a Pastor who was originally from Egypt, and who spoke Arabic. The two of them approached and talked to other Arabic speaking people in the mall. I hope they both come back.
While strolling the mall two men approached me and asked me if I had any pain they could pray for. They were not part of our team so I was caught by surprise, as that is a typical opener that we often use. It turns out this was there first time out, and they were led by the Holy Spirit to come to Portage Place. I invited them to join us next Thursday. Reminds me again that God is activating many people. There is a huge harvest coming. See reports below, and remember this is only 2 hours of Ministry on one night.
My son bought a new winter jacket and gave me his former one to give away. It was clean and in excellent condition but he had it dry-cleaned and it was like new. I asked the Lord to send me the person whom He wanted to have it. As soon as I stepped inside Portage Place Mall I was greeted by Kansas and Simon. Kansas is homeless, and she was complaining about being cold and the inadequacy of her jacket to keep her warm. So she tried on the jacket and it fit – she was very pleased – see picture below.
We also prayed for Jonathan and Douglas who had been kicked out of Pizzarama. Jonathan shared how he had been in prison for much of his life, but confessed he had never personally invited Jesus into his life so Ryan prayed him to surrender to Jesus and that Jesus would heal the brokenness of his heart, which he did. Claire met a woman named Doreen who had kidney pain and was heading to the hospital for dialysis. When she let Claire pray, the pain left and she got more mobility in her back. We also talked with Travis who was open to talking as well as a man named Darryl. After an hour and a half we ended up at Portage Place and prayed for some more people. It was a very fruitful evening.
Lorraine’s Report:
There was Ed, Michelle, Andy, Dale, Lanae, and myself on our team. We went to Siloam Mission again and met many people to speak with and minister Jesus’ love too. Some received our offer of prayers and some did not. Michelle handed out Christmas cards to the people in the line and many were delighted to receive one! [gang, we ought to make up some more Christmas cards for people! It’s a great idea!!] Ed also brought along a large container of Tim Horton’s hot chocolate along with some cups and lids for about 12 people. [That was so generous of him!] Since it was a very cold night, many welcomed the offer of the hot chocolate as they stood in line waiting for a bed outside the mission dorms. [That’s another great idea for those who are very cold and standing outside! We ought to buy some hot chocolate and do that again! $21.00 for a 12 cup container including the cups and the lids—and it’s great hot chocolate!]
We prayed for a lady name Belinda who was a strong Christian woman and gave her some hot chocolate along with a jar of candies for her grandchild which she gratefully accepted. Belinda needed a place of her own and financial stability to help herself. After we prayed I gave her a business card for H2O and encouraged her to contact me so that we might go for coffee sometime just to chat. She was very grateful and said she would probably call after Christmas. Belinda had a job, but she basically had nothing else and stayed in the mission, lining up every night for her bed. The way it works is this: If you don’t line up and wait, then you don’t get a bed, even if you had one the night before. Every night she had to line up before 8 p.m. to get in. Those, who had beds previously could have a bed again, and any that were left over after they were admitted, were given to the others who had lined up until there were no more beds left. Belinda said that she had to shower in the evenings for her job (not sure what she did), because she was not allowed to shower until 6:30 a.m. each morning, and she had to leave by 7 a.m. each day to work. Hopefully, we’ll be able to connect again.
We met a man named Al who asked us to pray for a place to stay and some work so he could have some money to live. The team prayed for another man named William. He had sore legs and knees and found it difficult to walk. After we prayed, William was healed! We also gave him a booklet to encourage him. Later, we met a man named Matthew whom we have seen and spoken with before. We refer to him as our Evangelist as he is a believer in Jesus and loves to share the Gospel with others in the shelter and at the mission. Later, we spoke with Janna, a lady we had prayed for the week before who was in a wheelchair with a broken ankle. She said her ankle was slowly improving, but it was quite black & blue. She asked us for a scarf to wrap around it to keep her foot warm in the cold. We also went into the Dining Room building at Siloam and met with/prayed for some people inside. Again, we met Rob as he was waiting to get some dinner. He gave us big hugs and was very glad to see us. I could see the Holy Spirit working in his heart as he was soft and very warm towards us; loved to engage with us (and of course, give us a SUN Newspaper! LOL)
Later, we moved to Portage Place where the team broke up a bit and went in a variety of directions to pray with people. Not sure what happened in other people’s encounters. I stopped to speak with a woman I have met before. Her name was Linda and she was a believer in Jesus. She told me that she had accepted the Lord at 33 years of age. Linda needed some prayer for safety in her apartment building as there were some men harassing her at times and she did not feel safe there. She was looking for a new place to live. She also asked for prayer for her brother who was a believer, but struggling and needed healing in his life. Overall, it was a good evening as the Lord used each of us to love on others around us, pray for many, and meet some practical needs by giving away some gloves, toques, scarves and gifts that had been donated to H2O. [Big thank you to all those who have given to the work of H2O in this tangible, amazing way. Those we give these items to are very glad to receive them!! This time we had given away Christmas cards, children’s toys, little children’s scarves, mitts and hats, and candy. Thank you!! So awesome!]
