Joyce Meyer writes, ‘It’s almost worth having a problem in order to be able to experience God’s comfort.’
Big numbers this week as 50 team members came out to minister. Including 7 students from Eston Bible College. Then 2 Christians who were in Portage Place and not known to us, overheard one of our teams praying for someone, and they introduced themselves, and were invited to tag along – so we were 52 in total. We sent teams to Winnipeg Health Center, Siloam Ministries, Garden City Shopping Center, as well as Portage Place. We encouraged the teams at PP to fan out through the walkways to City Place, and Winnipeg Square, as PP wasn’t that busy, and all of us would outnumber the number of people in the food court. Our team gave away some winter clothing and had a couple of prayer encounters. I also spent some time visiting and praying with some of the regulars.
Pastor Thomas’ Report:
Tonight I was teamed with Pastor Michael and Pierre from St. Malo as well as Hugh from Eston College. We went to The Health Sciences Centre where we prayed with Chasse, a young man making a miraculous recovery from a police shooting late last year. After we prayed for him we prayed for Anthony who was in the next bed who had fallen from a roof and broke his legs and elbows. He was very grateful and spoke some prophetic destiny over he and his girlfriend. We then split up and asked people if they wanted prayer. Hugh and I ministered to an aboriginal family who are from the Dene tribe in Northern Manitoba. The man, Mark had been in a snowmobile accident and broke his neck and femur. The other family members opened up and asked for prayer for anxiety and chest pain which they gratefully received. The head nurse speaking to Mike then said, “Please don’t go into the rooms of my patients – thank you.” It wasn’t rude, just stern.
We then went to the Emergency area and saw a woman with level 6 pain in her legs. After praying three times her pain left.
As we were leaving I saw a woman with a depressed look on her face walking towards us. Her name was Charlotte and I asked her she wanted prayer and she said yes. She asked us to pray for her Aunt who recently had her leg amputated so she took us up to the aunt’s room. After praying for her she said all her hip pain disappeared. We then prayed for Charlotte who opened up about her struggle with addictions and shared the Gospel with her but she said that she wasn’t ready to accept Jesus because she hadn’t forgiven her mother. After sharing that Jesus wanted to help her, she surrendered her life to Jesus, completely forgave her mother, and asked for a Bible. Praise God.

Trevor’s Report:
Hey everyone, I went to Portage Place with Sid, Denzel, Jeremiah & Randy. We split off into two groups and I led a group with Randy and Denzel. So we went on the second floor to head to City place and as we were going there, I saw a group of four on the Skywalk, and I asked the group if they had pain in their bodies and one guy said: “I twisted my ankle and It hurts!” His name was Victor. I asked if he wanted to be healed and Victor said “Who are you? Are you a doctor?” I said “One of a kind.” He said “Okay!” So I Spoke healing over him and commanded all pain to leave. He said he still had pain but as he walked away he didn’t complain about the pain anymore. There was a lady, her name is Sarah and she told me to back off and don’t touch her and she was tearing up a bit. She walked away and her sister was crying as Randy asked her if she has issues going on in her life. She had a few and Randy kept praying for her. After that Sarah came back and asked me to come to talk to her and she told me that she is backsliding and she wanted to be free from it. Sarah also told me that she had a dream last night about Jesus stretching out his arms and saying “Come Home Daughter!” I felt that she needs to give her life back to God and repent to him so that Holy Spirit can help her to get back on track with him every day. So I led her through the prayer of repentance and she asked Jesus to come back into her life and Sarah was just crying. She gave me a hug and I asked Holy Spirit to Guide her into All Truth and to help her to know her daddy God.
It was just an incredible night with Holy Spirit. Sarah was a daughter who was the Prodigal Daughter coming back home!
Jeremiah’s Report:
Last night was great! (as always)
I was originally on a team with Denzel, Sid, Randy, and Trevor but when we came to Portage Place someone named Daniel and his wife Norma saw that we were praying and they joined because they were Christians, but they were not familiar with praying for the sick and seeing them recover. (especially the part where they recover!) and he wanted to join us.
Daniel, Norma, Sid and I prayed for lots of people but didn’t see any healing.
The cool thing is, is that our motive isn’t to see someone healed. we love to see healing, but that is not the reason we pray for someone. The reason we go on the streets is to love people if our goal is to love people that we can’t go wrong, even if they don’t get healed.
Daniel’s Report:
Brahm, Tyler, Riley, Roberto and I went to Garden City Shopping Center. The atmosphere there is completely different than at Portage Place. Much less ‘needy’ people. Individuals are more prone to go in, get their shopping done, and leave. Not much for the social experience. We went and talked to a few people. Brahm prayed for a man with 2 canes. He was hesitant but willing to accept prayer. We prayed for a woman with back problems who experienced some minor relief. And we prayed for a group of teens, one of whom had a shoulder injury from basketball. After almost 6-7 prayers, the pain finally left. Stubborn bugg_ _. Then we got to share the kingdom with them. Tyler discerned that the spiritual atmosphere of the place was pretty tame. Not that demons weren’t there, but that the protocol is different. Much less aggressive, for now…Looking forward to going back and stirring the pot up there spiritually and seeing God’s kingdom manifest more and more.
Lorraine’s Report:
I didn’t see much healing. Spent some time with two or three people in Siloam on my own. Mostly heard their hearts and sat with them. Some other team members also did the same. We gave away some scarves, gloves, hats to some people and prayed with various individuals in Siloam. The people who ‘worked’ there were very welcoming and warm towards us and didn’t have a problem with us going into the dining room and praying/loving on people. I can see that we are slowly developing a good relationship with those in Siloam, and I introduced myself and our team to some people there.
We were at Siloam for about an hour. Then we traveled to Garden City where we stayed for the duration of the evening. It was pretty quiet in the mall, although there were various people there milling around, walking and doing a bit of shopping. Audrey and her group prayed for a few people. I connected with a few people in the mall to engage them, but their response was often a kind/polite ‘no’ to prayer or any ministry.
As well, we met up with Daniel’s team who were in the Food Court. We spoke with one another for a few minutes and then Daniel saw a large group of Filipino young people/youth come by who were hanging around nearby. He walked over to engage them all. They were quite suspicious of him at first and guarded. He was eventually able to pray for one young man who had some pain and the pain eventually left his body. The group was concerned that he was doing something like magic with them. He assured them he was not. Our group was too large so I encouraged them as they were
standing there to start praying for Daniel. And I further encouraged them that when we’re in Garden City, and we get a number of ‘no’s’ from people, bless them and keep walking through the mall praying. If we aren’t engaging with people then walk and pray for that mall and those in there. Garden City is an unplowed ground for the most part and I believe God wants to open that place up more to make His presence known.
