#87 – Need to Step-up Ministry Prayers

“The revival to come is like a sleeping bear, and our prayers are like sticks that are poking him to awaken him.” – Jeremiah Stewart
I was unable to make it out this Thursday, due to some other personal commitments.  I have heard that security in Portage Place Mall was telling team members they were no longer allowed to pray for people in the mall.  We have healed so many people in that mall, and the mall has become a lot tamer than it was when we started 22 months ago.  We have also fed a lot of hungry people, and disbursed a lot of winter clothing to people in the mall.  We will need to find ways to be less visible when we are praying, in order to continue to meet the needs of the people there.  We will also need to step-up our prayers for this ministry.  It won’t be long before spring comes and then we can invite people to stestep upde and minister to them there.

Pastor Thomas’ Report:

Tonight there were 28 people that came to Zion and another 15 that went straight to Portage Place making a total of 43 people who came out on our outreach.  Teams broke up and spread out to different places, including a couple of teams that went to Garden City Mall and two teams that went to Health Sciences Centre. I took a team to Health Sciences and was joined by Diana and Michelle. While at HSC Les called me to say there was some major resistance at Portage Place and that they were going to Garden City Mall to prayer for people.

We first went up to see Chasse who was a member of our church family and had been shot last year and so  prayed for a speedy recovery.  We then spent the rest of our time in various rooms ministering to people.  We prayed for Michael and his wife Christina who were involved in a major car accident that left him with a broken femur and tibia and neck pain for Christiana.  They recognized God’s protection over them and are believers.  Both felt their pain levels decrease as we prayed.  In the next bed beside them we prayed for Lois who had an abscess from diverticulitis.

We then went up to the 5th floor to pray for Darlene who struggled with hip pain and was blind in one eye and partially blind in the other.  Diabetes had caused the amputation of one of her legs. She felt pain subside in her hip and allowed us to pray for her sight with no instant results.  As I walked up the hallway I felt a spirit of sadness coming from one particular room and so I went in and asked if we could pray.  Darlene and her grandson Isaiah welcomed prayer for her husband Ed who had complications with his eating and was in palliative care mode as his organs were shutting down. Ed looked like a skeleton and allowed us to pray and as we did, I felt led to ask Ed if he would like to receive Jesus into his heart. He opened up his heart and received Jesus into his life.  This opened the door for his wife Darlene and grandson Isaiah to also surrender their lives to Jesus.  They were very moved by our visit and very grateful for the love and care we showed them.  We then went down to the emergency where we prayed for Darren, Eve and her sister, Tanya.  They were asking for prayer for their great grandniece who had been airlifted from Portage la Prairie.  We asked Tanya if she wanted prayer and she said she had  injured her quadriceps.  After three prayers the pain subsided considerably and she looked in shock over what the Lord had done.

Finally we were approached by Pamela who saw us praying and asked us to come up to ICU to pray for her fiancée, Tim who had a major infection in his stomach and colon since last November. He also couldn’t breathe properly because of tubes in his throat.  They were both Christians who appreciated our prayer.  All in all it was  a fun night with lots of adventure to say the least.

Ryan’s Report:

We handed out Pizza and met these 2 ladies Pam, and Zelma on main street in -20 weather trying to sell hand made arts and crafts, but there was no one on the streets to sell to. One had been to two doctors that day due to loss of movement and feeling in her hand. We feed them, prayed for them, and made a love offering into their arts and crafts business. The feeling and movement started returning to her hand.  Tears were flowing as we declared God’s love for them. Then they asked for a ride home since no one was out to buy the things they were selling. As we were giving them a ride home. One of the ladies told us that her husband Paul was in ministry for a while but fell back into his old habits, and they invited us both into their home to minister to Paul. After talking with him and encouraging him. We prayed a blessing over the home, and rebuked satan from his life, to break the addictions. The Spirit was very present by the time we left!!
