#93 – Corrine Celebrates Healing and Leaves Crutches Behind

“The law condemns the best of us, grace justifies the worst of us. Paul Ellis-Escape to Reality

Due to a head cold, I was unable to participate in the street ministry this week, but from the reports, it looks like I missed an eventful evening.  Nine folks from my area (SE Manitoba) couldn’t make it out this week, but there were still 26 prayer team members out and about in Winnipeg.

Erdman’s Report:

Adina, Lena, and Anna were part of my group.  We went to Portage Place.  As usual, I got a coffee and sat down and talked for a few minutes.  Shortly after a couple came by.  Lena knew the lady her name was Shanon his name was Andrew. She was very lonely and unhappy.  We prayed for her and she felt better right away.

Then Peter came and asked for food, so I bought him some food.

Then the excitement happened another man came and asked for food and there were two ladies with him, Corrine and Maureen.  Corrine had crutches.  I asked her what happened to her leg.  She said that somebody jumped her and broke her kneecap she told me that she had a Doctors appointment on the 29th to get rid of the crutches and get a cane.  I ask her why she would not go to the Doctor of all Doctors. She asked if that was me.  I said no that was Jesus.  She said years ago she read the Bible but now she started drinking.  I asked if she wanted to come back to Jesus.  She said yes so I led her in the sinner’s prayer.  After that, I asked if I could touch her knee and pray for her.  I prayed for the kneecap to be healed.  She said she believed that she was healed and give me her crutches as a souvenir.  Come and see them Saturday night at Zion Church.

Pastor Thomas’ Report

I was teamed up with Dance and Margriet and went to the Health Sciences Centre.  We went up to the 2nd floor of the ICU waiting room to see if anyone needed prayer. An aboriginal family from Peguis asked me to come into ICU to pray for their daughter Amy who was in a coma as a result of brain swelling from a very serious car accident in which she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. They were very grateful. We then went up to the 3rd floor where we met up with an elderly woman with dementia in a wheelchair who asked for prayer but couldn’t remember her name.  After praying for her we went to one room where we met Danny who had been left partially paralyzed and blind from a fight with his brother. He was squinting and had only 40 % vision in his eyes which were also very dry. After prayer he got 100% of his vision restored and could obviously clearly see me.  He then opened up his heart to receive Jesus and wanted a Bible which I said would bring him. We then went to the emergency area where we prayed for Barbara and for her uncle who has cancer. She was so blessed that we would pray for them. As we were leaving we met Clifford who listened to my testimony of how I got saved. He said he knew Jesus and had asked God for His pain for others and then soon after got sick. He refused to let us pray for him saying it was from the Lord and was suffering for Jesus.  Soooo sad.

Lorraine’s Report:

Last night Felipe and I went out to see a gentleman from our local church who has been struggling with ill health for some time now.  I called him in advance and was very surprised to find out that he was in the ER Department of the local hospital.  So Felipe and I went over to pray for him in the hospital.  He was very grateful for our prayers and visit.  The staff were very kind and accommodating towards us!  A little while later, after finding that he had not eaten any supper, we went out and bought something to eat and drink for him.  Initially, the nursing staff had told us that a specialist was supposed to come in and see him and they would hold on to his meal.  We prayed that the Lord would make a way for him to have something to eat if that seemed good, and when we arrived back at the ER we were given permission to bring the food into his isolation room.  We went to Subway and came back a short time later and offered the food.  It was a real honour to be able to do this and care for Bruce in this way.  Continuing to pray for his healing!
