Twenty-one Kingdom Messengers hit the streets, malls, and hospitals this week. As a group, we prayed for ‘words of knowledge’ before we went out, and most participants received a name, a picture, or a word that related to what or who they would encounter. It is an encouraging faith builder to receive that kind of insight and then actually encounter the named person, or situation that was revealed ahead of time. If God revealed it ahead of time – you just know you are standing on holy ground.
When Tyler and I arrived at Portage Place Mall we were greeted by several regulars, Brad, Jennifer, Sharon, and Joseph. They were seated together, waiting for us to arrive, and they all wanted prayer. I have offered to pray for Brad many times but he has always refused. He had just recently had some heart surgery, and tonight he was asking for prayer as he was experiencing very low energy. After two prayers he said he was feeling the positive change taking place in his body. We also talked to another regular, Edna, because she had thought she had seen an angel on more than one occasion. Tyler was able to confirm to her the existence of angels and guided her on how to pray the next time she saw one.
As We were getting ready to leave the Mall at 9, Art, another regular, said he needed to talk to us. He is a Christian, who knows his Bible very well, but he had a question for me, did I think the New Testament commanded tithing. I told him I thought that tithing was a very good guideline for us, but that I thought the New Testament was calling us to generosity. He then revealed what was troubling him, and I knew he was struggling with legalism. He said what will happen to those of us who can’t tithe? I receive about $1,000 a month and it almost all goes to rent and food – I don’t have a $100 a month left over to give. What will God do to me? I assured him that God would not condemn him for not tithing, but that he should be as generous as he is able, and God would count that to his credit. He was so relieved at my answer, as without it being directly addressed he had just been set free from legalism. Incidentally, I have observed Art, on occasion, buy a meal for someone who is hungry.
Pastor Thomas’ Report:
Tonight I was teamed up with Les and Trevor. We went to the house of a friend of Les and Trevor who asked us to go to pray as they hear banging on walls, doors close and lights turn on by themselves. We anointed her home from top to bottom and sensed lots of occult and rituals that had been done previously. We sensed an incredible peace and then we prayed over Liz and her kids. Trevor had the word neck pain and I had the word sword so we prayed and the pain left completely and as we prayed she felt a sword go into her back and I knew that represented the Word of God.
We learned that one of her daughters had brought a Ouija board into the house for a while a few months ago but had since been removed. This was one of the open doors we had to close.
From there we went to McDonald’s as that was one of the words of knowledge I had received. We went to the one in St Boniface and as we walked in there was a woman who looked as if she was wincing in pain. I asked her if she was in pain and to my surprise, she answered back in sign language. When I signed back to her we immediately had her full attention. She signed that she had neck pain from an accident where the discs in her neck were compressed. After prayer, she could feel the difference so she let us pray again and it improved a lot more. The woman’s name was Pat and she gave us a hug and took my card and wants to see us again.
Trevor Adds:
Les has a friend who I know as well and she wanted us to pray over her house. There was a demonic spirit that was doing paranormal activity in her house. There were doors opening and shutting, lights turning off, and at times they would hear footsteps. We commanded all demonic spirits to leave and asked Holy Spirit to come, and Gods presence came over the place, I saw across appear on the wall and Jesus told me, this house is Mine. I had words of knowledge for her and asked about pain in her spine. She told us that she has pain in her neck and I also knew there were confusion, depression, and fear over her and I command all that to leave her as well and she confirmed the pain left.
Les Adds:
We were all asked to pray for ‘words of knowledge’ before we went out on the streets, and Tom, Trevor, and I each received words that were entirely accurate for both of these encounters.
Michelle’s Report:
My team consisted of Seamus and Lorraine. We visited Seven Oaks Hospital. We prayed for John who had a biopsy done a week or so prior to his hospitalization. Our group was able to pray for his healing from an infection and also an irritation from a hernia. John was really blessed by our visit and prayers.
We also had the privilege of praying for Bruce . Bruce has been in the hospital for some time. On this occasion, he was asleep so we prayed quietly and blessed him before we left his room.
We then went to Portage Place Mall. The weather was rainy and cold so the mall wasn’t very busy. As I followed Lorraine and Seamus in the mall a woman named Marlena stopped me and asked if I was a Christian. I sat with her and prayed for her and her son who was in Stoney Mountain prison. She told me her other son had recently committed suicide. Marlena mentioned she had just been sitting at her table and had overheard people talking about Jesus. The people she overheard were other Kingdom H2O Team members. When she saw me she got brave and asked if I was a Christian. This gave me the opportunity to share Jesus and pray for needs. Although Marlena did not ask Jesus in her life at that moment she told me she would ask Jesus in her life at home. Let’s pray she follows through with her prayer of inviting Jesus in her life.
Diana’s Report:
Lena and I spent our time in Portage Place this evening. We got a drink and sat down to see who the Lord would bring to us. There was a man sitting beside us so I asked him if by chance his name was Stephen or if he knew someone close to him named Stephen as that was the name I heard when we were listening for clues for who to encounter tonight. Turns out his name was Martin but this opened up a dialogue about what we were doing at Portage Place and he was very interested and had a lot of questions for us. He said he was an agnostic because he really didn’t know what to believe but he was open. After more talk, he pulled out a book from his bag that he had just picked up from the library called “GOD – a human history” which was all about how people in many cultures have tried to humanize God through the ages. We had a very interesting conversation and he was very open with lots to share about his journey for understanding. We were then joined by Lani and then Gaylene who also was able to speak into Martin’s life and answer his questions. It was an absolutely divine evening where a man who was searching for understanding about God was able to see that God cares about him and is wooing him into a relationship. We were also able to pray that the eyes of his heart would be opened and that he would have a revelation of the Father. We had a few prophetic words for him as well that further showed him that God is a personal God and sees him as an individual. Spent the whole evening talking with him and gave him a card with Kingdom H2O contact info.
Brian’s Report:
Steven had received an image of blue sneakers with a white nike check mark, black shirt with white lines, and an oppressed man. Our last guy of the night had all of those, but this sharing took a different turn than we thought. He seemed very open to conversation but resistant to our message. He kept referring to “the universe” instead of god. The conversation mainly revolved around philosophy and apologetics. But where things took a turn was at the end when we offered to give him an experience of the love of God. When Brian James put his hand on the guy, he began “downloading” things about Brian like him going to Christian camp and what Brian’s favourite foods were. It looked like he was feeling something and it was making him uncomfortable. He eventually started saying random words and admitted that his demons that morning told him the power he wanted was dangerous. It was an odd comment coming from someone who claimed to be an agnostic/deist.
Before we left he admitted that his real name was not the one he told us. That was only a defense mechanism towards those he didn’t trust. And then he shared with us his real name and invited us back for another conversation should we meet again.
Ron & Donna’s Report:
Tonight we were with Linda, and Morgan at the Health Sciences Center.
We met Austin and Ken just inside the William Street entrance. They were sitting together and when we offered to pray both were open to it.. Austin (25 yrs old) had a bone infection in both feet and a displaced hip. Ken (40 yrs old) had already lost 2 toes to a bone infection and the surgeons were considering taking 5 inches off his leg and Ken was hoping they’d take 16 inches so as to completely stop the infection from spreading. We prayed for both of them and even though they both said their pain level had not changed they were both appreciative for the prayers.
We met Naranda next who was a nursing assistant in Psych Health. While she was quite friendly with us she at first said there was nothing we could pray for but as we continued chatting she finally said that she had heard a ghost story last evening that had left her shaken. So we spoke His protection over her and that fear had to leave. She described her religious background as Guru. She listened to a bit to the story of Jesus but her break period was over and she had to go back to work.
Jamie was an Aboriginal young man who was awaiting surgery on his spinal fluid infection which he said he had for about 7 months. His pain level was 7 and after we had prayed several times the pain had gone down a bit and as he walked away we all noticed that his countenance had changed.. He was actually smiling compared to when we first met him when he appeared anxious and burdened.
Twosama and his son David had been at the hospital for 3 days. David was a 28-year-old who was developmentally and physically handicapped. He also was unable to talk. As we prayed for David, speaking first God’s love for him, and then directing comments to his condition to change and for him to be able to speak he became somewhat restless. We assured him that he was in good hands and that his Heavenly Father was close by. Just before we prayed for Twosama he told us that when David is at home and listening to Christian music he often lifts his hands and bounces in his chair. After we prayed/spoke hope over him, Twosama was crying and thanked us for praying for them.
We met Darren and his wife Erica at the Sherbrooke St. entrance. Several years ago Darren had been working as a carpenter in Kenora when on several occasions he had to crawl underneath a cottage and while underneath he contracted a Fungal Infection from the soil (blastomycosis). As a condition the doctors had no idea what was wrong until just recently when the cause became known. By Divine appointment, Linda had heard of the condition before and first thing she gave was a short testimony of another man being healed of the very same condition and then we spoke healing over Darren. They thanked us for praying and Darren said that as we were praying he sensed he was being turned around.
As we were getting ready to run through the rain we marveled how God had touched a variety of people this evening so much so that their countenance had changed.
