#125 –  Busy Night Nets Salvations, Healing & Listening Ears

C.S. Lewis says, “To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you.”

This Week’s Highlights:
*Ex-Male Prostitute Receives Jesus – see Pastor Thomas
*Angels Rejoice During Healing Prayer – see Sheyenne
*Shooting Incident Produces Pain and Trauma – see Gaylene
*Mental Patient Receives Prayer for Peace – see Andy

Twenty-one Deliverers of Hope came out this week, and went to Seven Oaks Hospital, Health Sciences Center, Siloam, Quest Inn, and Portage Place.
I visited with several regulars in Portage Place Mall.  Homeless Edna was hoping to move out of her room at Salvation Army soon but was nervous about making a change.  Art, who is an in-depth student of the Bible, was showing me all the places in the Bible that the Jehovah’s Witnesses have altered Bible translations, and then wanted to show me all the places in the Bible that speak of the Trinity.  Wow!  Does he ever know his Bible.  He didn’t like the intrusions when other regulars stopped by my table.  Rita wanted my full attention so she could tell me about her struggles and she was agitated by Art’s Bible discussions, and she told him she didn’t care about all that stuff and proceeded to talk at the same time Art was talking.  Each seemed to be competing for my attention.  I was about to call a time-out when Joseph came along interrupted the conversations and asked if I would buy him some food, as he hadn’t eaten.  Rita then left in frustration, and Art shortly after.  I have to figure out a way to have one on one talks with these needy folks, and that is going to be very challenging in a public Mall.

Pastor Thomas’ Report:
Tonight I was teamed-up with Diana and Claire and felt led to go to the Quest Inn near Portage Place.  Diana and Claire began praying for a woman outside the hotel who was intoxicated, but asked for prayer for seizures to stop in her life.  As they prayed, she immediately fell into seizures on the ground.  We began to pray, breaking off darkness, praying for peace and healing over her while the ambulance was called.  She started coughing and it looked as if she got some freedom from a demon. A crowd gathered and the ambulance took her away to sober up.
We then went inside the hotel where we met Gloria who asked for prayer for healing from back pain and diabetes.  Her back pain which was 5/10 was coming healed.  She then invited us to the 6th floor to pray for her 2-year-old niece, Ernestine, who had some heart problems. Tina, her mom was there and said she struggled with anxiety and depression. The Lord had given me the birth date June 23rd so I asked her about it. She said her father was born on that day but died two years ago.  She began to weep, explaining that he used to live just down the hallway on that floor in room 623 which I pointed out was his birth month and date June 23. She was floored and began to cry. We prophesied the love of the Father over her. We kept ministering to her until joy poured out of her. She was so blessed and took a Bible. God used that word of knowledge to connect her to Himself.
We then met Ray a man who was a Christian believer from South Indian Lake Reserve, getting treatment for PTSD from 5 years of sexual abuse while in foster care.  He was open to be prayed for.  It was there we met Mathew and Hilda Garrick who pastors a church in Cross Lake.   We prayed against cervical cancer and had the opportunity to bless and encourage them.  I have known this couple for over 25 years and have helped bring teams up into Their community service. It was such a surprise to see them.
From there went to Portage Place where along with Margit we prayed for a man who confessed to being an ex-male prostitute and wanted prayer for guidance. He was very mixed up and confused but he was open to prayer to accept Jesus back into his life which he did, Praise God!  What an action-packed night!

Sheyenne’s Report:
Tonight at Street Ministry, I went to Seven Oaks Hospital with some team members to pray for Bruce, a member of our church. While we were there, we prayed for healing in his body, we anointed him, the hospital room, and broke of generational curses etc. I received an image of angels surrounding all of us in the room. I remember they were so happy and they were playing music on trumpets. I then felt the Holy Spirit saying that they are rejoicing in Bruce’s healing and that he has already been healed. I have never asked God before to give me an image, as I usually get words of knowledge for people instead of images, so this was super cool! It was awesome being able to encourage, bless and pray over Bruce tonight.

Gaylene’s Report:
I was teamed up with Lani, who came a little later.  Before Lani arrived, I had a long lovely conversation with Mohamed, a young man from Somalia with a cleft lip. He’s in Winnipeg with his mom, dad and siblings, he works in a  warehouse, and is grateful for his life here. Usually, when I interact with Somalis (considered one of the hardest to evangelize people groups) they can be oppositional and argumentative towards the gospel. Mohamed was quite soft and open and actually interested in what I had to say. I talked to him about dreams and visions that Somalis and Muslims around the world are having about Jesus, and he was intrigued. He was happy for me to pray a blessing over him and said he’d find me again.
The Lord highlighted a couple of young people in the food court that seemed in distress. I approached Ashley and Kyle with Lani and they were definitely in need of prayer. Kyle was shot several years ago during an incident where two of his friends were murdered. He suffers from constant pain and is dealing with deep trauma and sleeplessness. Ashley is his best friend and they are currently homeless. We prayed for Kyle about his pain and trauma and prophesied future and hope for him and for the night terrors to leave. We also prayed for their housing situation and for Ashley, who’s been such an amazing friend and support to Kyle.  Ashley said she would come to see us every Saturday and actually added it to her reminders on her phone.
Al gave us a bag of beautiful scarves to give out and we have a few out to some very grateful women.

Andy’s Report:
Sonya, Les and I went to HSC hospital to visit a specific patient in a secure zone. We found out that he could not have visitors because of his condition. While there I ran into a former co-worker. We were able to pray for Brian while he was on a 15 min pass for mental healing and peace. He really felt better after Sonya prayed with our hands on him. While Les and Sonya were waiting they prayed for a lady with a walker. The pain in her right leg left and she felt a blast of peace on it.
We also prayed for continued healing for Colleen having dialysis. Was our 3rd visit. We returned to the lobby and met Marilyn with knee problems and healing skin graft. The pain subsided dramatically. On our way out of the hospital, we met James with an injured nose wanting prayer. He was a Christian who had just given a ring to his girlfriend with the Lords Prayer on it. She wasn’t a Christian yet, so we shared Jesus with her and she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour. A very powerful encounter and testimony to 4 of James friends who were there also. We then returned to Portage Place Mall. Prayed for Margit’s swollen toes and feet. The presence of God came on her and she fell in the Spirit right in the mall. The security came and she boldly explained the whole event to him.  An amazing conclusion to an amazing evening with Jesus.
