There are two possible attitudes when facing a giant. One is to say, ‘It’s so big, there’s nothing I can do.’ The other is to say, ‘It’s so big, I can’t miss!’ – Nicky Gumble

I am sending this report from a hotel in the US, as Barb and I are on a road trip. So obviously I wasn’t on the streets this week. However, reports tell me that 46 folks showed-up to minister on the streets, malls, parks, and hospitals of Winnipeg. Many of the young people – 15 of the people were first-timers. I remember my first time (May 5th, 2016). Seeing Jesus do healing miracles is a life-changing experience. A lot of Kingdom building going on last night check these amazing reports of God on the move.
Pastor Thomas’ Report:
For the next two weeks Zion is hosting a team called “Street Invaders”, a group of young people from across the prairies that minister in evangelism, so all nine of them came out with us, as well as a group of young people from Kilcona Park Alliance Church. We had a total of 12 groups that spread out across Central Park, Portage Place and Main Street where sandwiches and water were given out to people.
On my team, where my two nephews, Jeremiah and Samuel, and we were joined by another Samuel from Eston, Sask, who was part of Street Invaders. We went to Health Sciences to pray for Anne a woman connected to our church who was recently diagnosed with leukemia. As we were approaching the front doors we saw three young girls who were patients from the hospital having a cigarette outside. One of the girls named Tamara, a17-year-oldd from Sandy Lake, Ontario has a serious kidney disease and had pain on her left side. She welcomed prayer and said she felt all the pain fading away as we prayed. We then prayed for her friend Theresa who has vision problems and blindness in her right eye. After prayer, she could see a marked improvement. We prayed about 5 or 6 times and she continued to see improvement which speaks to the importance of perseverance.
When we got to Ann’s room we found her in good spirits. We prayed against the leukemia and could see the peace of God all over her face. She said she has been asking God to use her in the hospital and that over the past week she had already led two people to the Lord. She was such a source of encouragement to us all and her prayer was that God would continue to use her as a light in the darkness.
We then went to Central Park and Portage Place where we prayed for lots of people including Shandell, a single mom with 5 boys who was feeling anxiety and is overwhelmed trying to raise her kids and finding it difficult. As we prayed she was crying and said that as we prayed, she felt pain in her back leave. We shared Jesus love with her and gave her water. She left very encouraged.
Chris’ Report:
I took my wife Charis and friends Yvonne & Josh from Portage la Prairie along to hit up Main St. Josh (11 yrs) made 50 sandwiches, we brought some waters and coffees. Had a blast blessing SO MANY with food. It’s amazing to be a part of this. Others from KH2O were there too, buying pizzas, waters…it was a STREET PARTY!
The first lady I met was Diana. She got blessed with some food and I asked if I could bless her with healing for her body (she had a leg that stuck out straight and stiff). She had arthritis in her knees and feet and had lots of pain. So I prayed once with her and walked with her a bit with not much change…but after the 2nd prayer, as she was walking exclaimed, “WHAT DID YOU DO!?” All her pain left her. Ha, we laughed and told her what Jesus did and God’s love for her. Her leg straightened out considerably…she could bend her knee 75% normally which was a huge change from the completely stiff leg before We also met Sheila who had arthritis (knees) and a cane. We prayed for her and had ALL her pain go, and her mobility come back. I watched her bend an otherwise stiff knee all over. Praise God! Spent lots of time reminding her of God’s love.
Also, Josh asked a police officer if he could give him a bottle of water. The police officer said, “no thank you”…then Josh asked if he could pray for him…for safety and protection. With a big smile, the police officer said, “Yes! I need that! Please do!” Josh prayed a great prayer.
We changed locations and went to Ellice near the Portage Place. Met some people there. Kevin Penner prayed for a young lady who’s vision instantly went to 100%.
Met a man who suffered a stroke and had no ability to move his arm, elbow, wrist or fingers. We prayed for awhile and actually saw his finger movement slowly come back. Slowly he could begin to squeeze our fingers. This was a brand new experience he said he could not do before.
We met a young family who had just lost their newborn baby girl named “Freedom” (stillborn). Yvonne, Josh, & Charis prayed for them as the family hugged and cried together. We handed out more food, pizza, water, street supplies etc and I got a chance to pray for healing for the mom. Turns out she has a pain in her uterus because she found out she has a cyst there. “The pain is always there,” she said. We prayed…and instantly again, all the pain left. She was moving all around, coughing (trying to test to see if she could find any pain) and she could find none! We explained more about the love of God and the power of Jesus in us.
A powerful day out there…again! Yay God! He is in love with His children!
Michelle’s Report:
Our group, Ed, Geraldine, Sanchos, Dale and myself went on Main Street this Thursday. We had another group from Portage la Prairie join us. Our group prayed for Sharlene a mom of 6 children. She said she was a Christian and wanted a lot of prayer for various issues. Geraldine recognized a woman named Corinth who had received healing for her right leg. Tonight she was receiving prayer as she had swelling around her knee. The majority of our evening on Main Street was handing out pizza slices along with sandwiches, granola bars and bottled waters. We also handed out a book which contained the Gospel of John to those who wanted to take one. Our group then headed to Central Park. Ed was gracious and stopped to purchase two huge boxes of ice cream treats to hand out to the children in the park. This Thursday was a night of interaction and making connections.
Iris’ Report:
Joined up with Gaylene and others at the ‘Need Prayer’ sign at Central Park. The first 3 people that came up to the table shared praise reports: of a lost daughter found, of a lady who had endometriosis who was pregnant now, and a Bill H shared his testimony of a vision of Jesus that turned his life from being a murderer. I spent some time with Roy who wondered over and looked kind of lost and aimless. He kept looking at me and saying I forgot about Him, I forgot about Jesus. I told him that Jesus had never forgotten about him and was inviting him back. Gelane and Donna came over and prayed for Roy as Well, and after sharing his grief with him about a friend of his that passed 8 months ago, Gelane asked him if he wanted to receive Jesus and he said yes, so I prayed with him and he repeated what I said in his language of bush Cree. After we prayed he said the empty place that had been in him was no longer there. We gave him a Gideon’s Bible and told me over there again that Jesus loved him and that we would be back next Thursday.
Ron & Donna’s Reports:
Divine Encounter Anytime –
On Thursday Morning August 2nd I (Ron) was scheduled for a Medical Test at HSC. Upon arriving the Technician had me lay down and as she was preparing the test I asked her if the room we were in used to be SICU. Her answer was affirmative and then asked me why I knew about it. I explained that from 1991 to 1997 I was a Chaplain at HSC and as such I had been in SICU many times. She explained to me that she was a Russian Jew who had first immigrated from Russia to Israel and then to Canada. She also asked me what a Chaplain was as she was not familiar with the term. I went on to explain that it was a military term for a Minister usually employed by the Government and various institutions. Gradually the conversation turned to matters of her heart. She had questions about why God permitted the Holocaust and was God real. She went on to explain that she attended Yom Kippur on a yearly basis because it was one religious exercise that was important. It is the highest Jewish holiday and as a Jew she was expected to attend. As she continued the medical test I began to explain how Jesus Christ the Messiah had fulfilled the Atonement. That led into a discussion of the Messiah’s return. All in all it was one of the best medical tests I have ever had because I was able to share Jesus’s love for her and give the background of His sacrifice using some of the Old Testament. Close to the end of the test God gave me a word for her which touched her deeply. However when I offered to pray with her she refused but did allow me to pray a blessing for her. I simply asked “Abba please show your love to Lydia today.” Her reply was “yes Abba is a good name for God”. I had no idea this conversation was coming when I went into test. Holy Spirit’s presence was palpable. Great way to start the day.
In the evening Donna and I went directly to Central Park. We prayed with Debbie for her rent to not be increased as well as speaking against her struggle with PTSD and anxiety and depression. She appreciated the prayers. Then we went on and met with Abdi and Abdi-nassar who were from a local Mosque. We had met them on previous Thursdays and this was a deepening of the relationship. From there we went to the prayer table where Jerry and I prayed with Terry for God’s help in dealing with his grief from losing his girlfriend and also praying for his collapsed lung to be healed. Meanwhile Donna, Iris and Galene prayed for Roy who eventually asked Jesus to come back into his life. After praying with Terry, Erdmann and I did another circuit of the park offering prayer as we went. No one took us up on it but we did sing ‘Jesus Loves Me’ with two groups of people who described themselves as Orthodox. Both groups appreciated singing with us as the children as well as their parents were smiling broadly afterwards.
PROPHECY CORNER
Now is the time of harvest. I saw the endless seas of those who will come to know Jesus in a fast and rapid movement. The Holy Spirit is awakening hearts to know Him and we are going to see the lost come to know Him in unexpected ways. Christy Johnston – The Elijah List
