| Abraham Lincoln said, “It is better to be silent and thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt!” This Week’s Highlights
*Bank Windows Smashed – see below
*Word of Knowledge Initiates Fruitful Encounter – see Pastor Thomas
*Hospital Patients Invite Prayer – see Linda
*Central Park Folks Ask For Prayer – see Diana Fifteen Kingdom Expeditors came out to minister this week, and went to Main Street, Health Sciences, Quest Inn, Central Park, and Portage Place.
It was good to be back at Portage Place after missing 2 weeks. During the time I was away, one of the regulars, Edna, had died. Fortunately, Ryan, one of our team members had led her to the Lord just about a year ago.
While I was visiting with several of the people that frequent the Food Court someone deliberately broke 6 of the very large windows across Portage Ave at the Royal Bank. That created a lot of excitement, and a huge police presence. Never a dull moment at Portage Place. Pastor Thomas’ Report:
Tonight I went with Neda who came out for the first time and we spent our time at Portage Place. There were two highlights from the evening. Firstly, two Muslim women from Algeria came across our path. I had a word of knowledge for back pain for one of them, and she was completely shocked when I pointed to the area in her lower back. She let us pray and said she felt great after we prayed and even seemed somewhat bewildered. We then met an older couple from Sao Paolo, Brazil who are up to visit their daughter who just had a baby. They couldn’t speak English but could understand my Spanish and I could more or less understand their Portuguese. We asked if we could pray for them and the woman shared that she had level 8 abdominal pain for the last four years. Neda placed her hand on Gracilela’s abdomen and we commanded the pain to go and it dropped to a level 4. We prayed again and it went to a 2 and then it left completely. They were pleasantly surprised. Linda’s Report:
I saw how the Lord opened doors at HSC in a way that did not violate hospital policy, moving quite naturally and spontaneously through relationships. Warren, Georges and I were encouraged by a family member to come and pray for her brother, a patient at HSC, with whom we chatted, had coffee and prayed. In the course of that visit, we came to know the patient in the adjacent bed, who also welcomed prayer and added that we came just when she really needed help from the Lord.
Outside a woman approached me and asked for a smoke but received a counter offer of prayer, which she gladly accepted. It was a fascinating evening where the Holy Spirit touched hearts and everyone welcomed further contact. Diana’s Report:
After a great time of ministry on Main Street we headed to Central Park where Audrey and I stopped to talk to 3 people on a bench. The older man was extremely hostile towards God because of so many hurts and pains. He kept saying “God doesn’t love me, nobody loves me”. At the same time he professed a belief in God but his anger was great. He was very conflicted. We saw him soften a bit after conversation. The other couple Ann and Wilk wanted prayer for their 20 year old son who had a head injury from skate boarding. Their son is a new father and an atheist. Ann has been praying for salvation for her kids for a long time and finally saw a glimmer of hope in her son after this accident. Audrey had been carrying a jacket and bible around for a few weeks and finally was able to offer it to Wilk – the jacket was a perfect fit, and he really appreciated the Bible. A friend of theirs came along and began to pour out her struggles and life story to me. She wanted prayer and encouragement. She is prophetic and also see’s evil spirits. Her ancestry included Chief Peguis and also the Booth family who started the Salvation Army. There is much sorrow in her life, but also much destiny on her life. |
