Twenty-three people came out to minister last night.  I was with Sheyenne, and Elaine (a visitor from BC). There was no Jets game in Wpg. but there was still a whiteout party at the MTS Center, and there were a lot of people around Portage Place.

As soon as I arrived at PP Gaylene told me a man named Art was looking for me.  He is a Christian and wanted to talk about how he senses we are close to the return of Jesus.  After a big discussion, I asked him if he had any prayer needs he told me he struggles with depression.  He said he has so much shame, guilt, and regrets from his past.  Lani and Suzanne had joined us, and Lani received many ‘words of knowledge’ for him.  As a team, we were able to assure him that the past – is past, and as a Christian, he has been forgiven.  We prayed off the spirits of shame and guilt and blessed him with spiritual protection from the enemy who has been feeding him lies.  He said he was experiencing a lot of peace.

Elaine and I then ministered to a man named Bruce who a team of us had led to the Lord last year.  Bruce has served time for murdering 2 people.  Last night he was hungry, stoned and barely coherent.  I bought him a hamburger.  Under my breath, I commanded sobriety over him, and he slowly sobered-up and we could communicate with him.  He struggles with believing that God could forgive him.  He was argumentative and belligerent and I used some strong language with him to get him to pay attention to us.  (Elaine was a little surprised at my choice of words, and aggressiveness, but said later it seemed to work) I told him to stop feeling sorry for himself, and I also advised him to stop believing the bull-sh-t, that the devil is feeding him.  Elaine told him the devil was controlling his thinking, and he needed to recognize that.  Once we had impacted him and he was listening to us I reminded him that he was a Christian and he was forgiven.  It was a long encounter but eventually, we led him in a prayer where he tearfully asked God to help him.

Gaylene’s Report:

I was with Lani and Danica (a student from Eston College). One of the first people we ran into was Jamal who was standing by the piano with Lucas. He reminded me that I had prayed for him when he first got out of jail late last year. I vaguely remembered him, but initially was dealing with something else, so I returned a little while later and he told me his story. Originally from Shamattawa, Jamal was recently radically encountered by Jesus and set free from all his addictions. As of last night, he’s 19 days clean and sober and he has felt no compulsion whatsoever to drink or smoke or use. He says he’s now a soldier for Christ. Danica, Sheyenne and I prayed for him for further revelation and continued sobriety and His Presence was very evident. He also told us he wanted to get baptized so I connected Al with him since there are baptisms at Zion on May 20th.

This was extremely encouraging for me…you just never know what’s going to happen when you pray for someone!

Michelle’s Report:

This Thursday our team was Audrey, Sancho, and Geraldine. We teamed up with Ed, Andy, iris, Apollo and Julie. We went to Siloam Misson where some of the team went inside Siloam and gave out roses purchased by Ed for all the mothers for Mother’s Day.

Iris, Julie and I prayed for Michael who suffers from pain in the right leg and lower back his pain was 10 out of 10 after much prayer went to a 2 out of ten. Michael was thankful. We also prayed for many issues as he hears and sees demons.

Iris and Michelle bumped into a rather remarkable woman who has been abused in the past. Evelyn was a joy as she was needing a suite to live in yet was so concerned over others especially Pam who needed to get money from a fellow who sold her car yet had not given her the money from the purchase.

Our two teams met again at Main Street near the North Hotel. Many of our team members prayed for Paul who wanted to reconnect with his faith and his family. Paul was very burdened for his wife and children to attend church and believe in Jesus as he did. Iris was able to pray for the mother of the murdered Fontaine girl. I wish I would have been able to relay all the night’s encounters from every team member as there was so much going on.

Iris’ Report:

Ed, Andy, Julie, Apollo and I were in one vehicle (first time out for Julie and Apollo).

The highlight of my evening was in front of the Pizzarama on Main street. A man and a woman, Paul and Laney were standing there shivering. They had run out of gas right there and pointed to their van that had plastic taped in place of a window. I chatted with them, and felt prompted to give Paul $10 to buy gas, and then went over to Ed’s box of roses, got a rose and gave it to to the lady.  Paul asked me if I knew who she was:  I said no, and he told me that she was the mother of Tina Fontaine that had been murdered a year ago, and Winnipeg media had many stories about it. My heart sunk hearing that, and it was so bittersweet to give her that rose. Paul said that she had tried counseling and so many things but nothing is helping. I prayed for her, and then Geraldine and Sancho came out with a piping hot pizza, and we handed that to Paul and Laney. After that, Laney was cold so she went and sat in the van to warm up. I went into the hotel to hand out some flowers with Ed, Apollo and was there for 20 min.  When I came out, the rest of our group was standing talking to Paul and ministering to him. We also prayed for his wife Sarah that was struggling with a health concern and was angry at God.  Paul bowed his head with us and you could see he was visibly touched and moved after that prayer time. I then told Paul that it was not an accident that he had met us tonight and that we had met him, that God sees Him, cares for Him.  He said, “I know it wasn’t. I really needed this tonight. It’s cold out here, but I’m all warm inside. I really needed this today.”

With being told that Laney had a daughter that had been killed, it brought to mind that this was the second big news media person (in a sad way) that the Holy Spirit has had us meet and encounter on the streets in the last three weeks. Three weeks ago, Gaylene and I met a man sitting on a bench at the entrance to Portage Place. You could tell he had been drinking and was depressed and hopeless, and we sat with him for an hour slowly piecing together his story.  In that process, I had a simple ‘word of knowledge’ that he was carrying two big rocks. One rock was because something had been done to him in his life that was not his fault but that was very much affecting him, and the second rock was him trying to cope with the first rock. As we kept sitting with him after I said that, he opened up and said that he had been switched at birth in a hospital up north in Manitoba. I had never heard of this story, but was told afterwards that it was well known by most people on our team as it had hit front page news. We spent time praying for and with him, and as he left you could see that he had more hope and knew that God saw him and cared for him.

Margriet’s Report:

It was an interesting night last night. After taking a very long way back to Portage to find parking, I managed to get a spot close to Portage Place. Not far from where I parked I saw three homeless people sitting and cheering on the Jets. One of them, a lady had crutches. I went over to talk to them and handed the flowers I had to the lady with the crutches. I asked her if she was in any pain, and on a scale of 1 to 10 how much it hurt. She said her pain in her knee was close to a 10, so I placed my hand on her knee and prayed for the pain to go away. After I prayed I asked if it felt better, she said the pain had gone down and she could move her knee a bit more. We sat and chatted for a bit and found out she was banned from Portage Place, so I told her I would buy her some food when I came back to the car.

I also prayed for Mildred in Portage Place, she had a bad shoulder, so we prayed for the pain to go away and movement to be restored. I also felt the Lord was to restore confidence in Mildred and for fear to not control her. She later admitted she needed to stop drinking as that was what was causing her to fall and hurt herself. I prayed that she would no longer find alcohol interesting and also encouraged her that she took a big step in admitting she has a problem. We prayed for addiction to no longer have a foothold in her life. I encouraged her to find a church home and suggested Kingdom H2O on Saturday nights.

Pastor Lorraine’s Report:

Jeremiah and I went out to meet with a woman named Sue who had a concussive injury to her brain due to numerous car accidents and falls.  She

was on disability as a result and very worried about her situation.  We drove to her home to pray with her and spent some time praying for her fears and spoke healing to the brain injury and its various effects.  We didn’t see immediate results to do with the injury, but each time we prayed a peace would fall upon her as she sat there in silence.  We could clearly see the presence of God resting upon her each time.  Wow!

Next, we went to see two other men at the Concordia hospital to pray with them.  One of them was seriously close to dying from cancer.  We introduced ourselves, anointed him with oil and prayed with him for healing to his entire body, cursing the cancerous cells and commanding new healthy cells to grow and for healing to his organs.  We did not notice anything immediately, but again we could sense the presence of God resting upon him.  I asked him if he knew the Lord Jesus Christ and had received him into his life and his answer was clearly a yes on all accounts.  He understood the message of the Gospel and what Jesus had done for him.  Continuing to pray for his healing.  He was very grateful that we had come.

Afterwards, we went to see another gentleman named Bruce whom we have been praying for awhile now.  PTL the gout in his feet was healed!  Some swelling

in his body has gone down, but there’s still challenges with walking and some pain.  We prayed for his feet in particular as well as his circulatory/lymphatic system.  He was in good spirits and this was the best that I have seen him in awhile now.  He was doing much better, but it’s a slow process of healing.  Grateful to God for the opportunity to visit, encourage, laugh together, and anoint him with oil and pray with him.  Come on Jesus!  Even though Jeremiah and I didn’t see any miraculous healings this night, we were both very encouraged and blessed.  And each of the people we prayed for was touched by Holy Spirit and Jesus’ deep love for them.  What a privilege to be able to bless, pray for and love others this way!

PROPHECY CORNER

It is a strategic time in history. There is a battle for the souls of men that is intensifying, and God is raising up a powerful army. It is no longer about a few generals, but it is about a whole generation of fire-starters, miracle-workers and love-carriers. Don’t miss this time in history! It is your season!  Sherry Evans – The Elijah List
